2015 Yaris SE

I'm not seeing anything much about the new 2015 Yaris anywhere. Although I am not new to the site ... I haven't been active since 2009 when I had my last Yaris. Long since gone and traded.

Anyway ... I just order the 2015 Yaris SE. Haven't seen them other than online and on the Toyota Canada web site. Let's just say that they made me an offer I couldn't refuse with the trade on my current 2005 Echo (used to tow behind my RV) and along with loyalty bonus etc ... I am expecting delivery in a month or so.

Ordered all options including the navigation system. My only debate was to go with the automatic or standard. Standard so I could hopefully tow four wheels down.

I finally opted for the automatic since I have never really towed with my Class B RV in the 3 years I've had it ... plus I am expecting to have a double knee replacement in a few years ... so wasn't sure how that might affect my ability and comfort level to shift.

Anyone else order a 2015. If this is in the wrong area please let me know. Maybe it's the Fourth Generation Yaris because of the body changes?? Not sure.

Haven't seen much of anything about the 2015. Some people have reported they might not hit the US until november.

Congrats on the car purchase. You'll have to let us know how all those options make the Yaris feel, and if they are worth the price.

There is one in stock nearby. From the website I can tell it's from France.

My dealer says they'll likely have one around 10.1. I'm anxious because i too am thinking of ordering with an end of year time frame.

I want to test drive a 2015 manual-transmission SE first before I decide whether to get that or go for a 2007-2011 Yaris sedan or hatchback (I still really do like the look of the older generation Yaris, especially the sedan).

If you want a sedan, I HIGHLY recommend getting a 2014/2015 Corolla S. Interior finish is so much better and you get a 6MT. Not to mention all the goodies the new corolla offers.

I agree...but then I lean toward new when purchasing a car that will see immediate or future use as a daily driver. If I had to buy a sedan (as opposed to a 5-door), I'd probably get a Corolla S with all that comes with the S (6MT = ) EXCEPT what I call the 'boy wonder wheels'. I've actually seen two Corolla S examples with low-key Toyota wheels instead...one in Mississippi, and one here in Texas.

Corolla S standard package comes with hub caps and 16" steel rims. It also comes with cloth seats and manual climate control and drum rear brakes.

The upgraded one has auto climate, leather seats, etc...

I just cannot stand the look of the new 2014 Corolla, regardless of the trim level (S is even worse than L/LE, with the idiotic front grill/bumper and ridiculous looking alloy wheels). It looks cheap/flimsy/bloated and just has horrible lines/proportions to my eyes. Even the black trim piece on the lower rear bumper looks broken/strange, where Toyota just seemingly chopped off a chunk of it on the passenger side end-piece to make room for the exhaust pipe. Ughh. It does a good job of matching the 2012+ Honda Civic and 2015 Honda Fit for ugliest subcompact on the block. Plus, I want as little frivolous "technology bloat" as possible. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

With that said, my favorite subcompact sedan selections are either a manual-transmission 2007-2012 Toyota Yaris (Base or S trim), or a 2009-2011 Honda Civic LX-S (which is hard to find in manual, but I could take a manual LX and turn it into a LX-S visually rather easily). My favorite subcompact hatchback is still the 2007-2011 Yaris (preferably in S trim), with the 2015 SE being a runner-up.

I wonder if this is the same in the U.S. ? There have been differences in the past between the two countries re certain models. For example, in the U.S. the Yaris has always come standard with A/C...not so in Canada.

I agree re the 'ridiculous looking alloy wheels', but not any other points re the Corolla. I have disliked the the looks of all previous Corollas, going back decades. I don't feel that way about the 2014. I agree with your other TOYOTA selections .

Yeah, I have always wanted to like the Corolla, but every generation just doesn't do it for me visually for some reason (nor do most cars for that matter). Something always looks off to me, with regards to my own sense of aesthetics and symmetry. I think that the S trim refresh of the 2011-2013 Corolla (especially in White) was Toyota's best attempt at a good looking Corolla sedan thus far, if anything.

About 1 hour (+) ago I pulled into the parking lot at a Panera bread in my 2007 Yaris, and parked next to a new white Yaris. I got out of my car, and looked at the back of the new Yaris. it was an SE. I could see that it still had the factory sticker on it. I figured it was a 2015 because the strip that is chrome on the hatch of my 2014 was white (). Sure enough, it was a 2015. I decided to go in and order, and then go out and grab something out of my car and get a better look at the SE (+ possibly take some pictures). Just as I shut the door to my car (was going to walk around it to look at the 2015 again) a couple (late 50s-early 60s) walking across the parking lot made a beeline for the new Yaris and drove away. Alas, I didn't get any pictures. The best part = the seats (see Kal-El's 'Facelifted 2015 Yaris leaked' - page 4 - post #67 (Kal-El's own post) picture #4. The interior looked just like that...black with black seats with the one line of white stitching). Looked even better than the picture! The wheels = a slightly more subdued version of the 'boy-wonder-ish' Corolla S wheels (). The bottom of the rear bumper (small strip) = blacked out to kind of match (in theme, I guess....) the 'fish mouth/Fu Manchu' front. This area also included (in the center), the back up light (). It was an automatic (sorry......).
