P0705 fault Code
Hello I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris Liftback Automatic Transmission. I love this car bough it brand new in May 2008.
Last night we were driving home and all of a sudden my HUD Display didn't show what gear I was in and I couldn't do more than 10MPH. I brought it into Advanced Auto and got it scanned and it came up with the P0705 fault Code. I have checked the fuses they all seem to be fine. Anyone else have other ideas on what I can check I can't get it to the dealer until maybe monday. HELP! |

A quick search for P0705 finds stuff like this http://engine-codes.com/p0705_toyota.html so you know it probably has nothing to do with fuses.
Wait for CTScott to stumble upon your thread. He is the guru when it comes to diagnostics of this nature. He is on very frequently so it shouldn't take to long. Searching within this forum reveals these two threads http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ighlight=P0705 http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ighlight=P0705

P0705 is most ofter caused by an issue with the "park/neutral" switch assembly, which is the device on the automatic transmission with the large grey connector. It feeds the shift position to the ECM, which in turn is the ECU that controls the automatic transmission.
If you remove the air intake box you can gain access to it, to see if it is intact.
