Keep the shifts around 2,000rpm and try and limit yourself to 105km/h on the highway, if you do so you'll easily get sub 6L/100km. I drive anywhere from 120-135 on the highway and each week do some redline pulls and i'm still getting around 6.5L/100km and that is with a larger throttle body and ported intake manifold.

Take care of the car and it can easily be a 15-20 year car. Due to where you live it will be the salt that you have to worry about. I'd recommend getting it sprayed in the spring at a place like krown, it'll make your life easier if you ever want to do any work under the car.

Btw, where abouts are you located in mississauga?
