How to disconnect my alarm.
My Yaris alarm keeps going off at the middle of the night without any reason what so ever!! I don't want to piss my neighbor off. Is there a way i can unplug it.

I'm sure there is a way to disconnect it, via fuse or something, but depending on the type of alarm it is, you may be able to program it to disable without having to go that far.
I have a K.A.R.R. security system installed by Toyota. There's a small fob looking thing mounted below my steering wheel column that lets me program it to valet mode, off, etc. If you know what type of alarm you have and find a little programming fob for it, you might be able to get results that way. I'm assuming this is an auto arming system and don't need to tell you to simply not arm it at night lol. |

The most common cause for unintended alarm trigger is the hood (bonnet) switch.
It can be either that the switch is intermittent or the rubber cap has deteriorated far enough so as to not allow full depression of the switch. I would start there. |

If you can find the people who installed the alarm or the manufacturers ask them if the sensitivity can be adjusted.
Many alarm systems have movement sensors that are meant to trigger if an attempt is made to tow the car. If these are too sensitive, they can be set off by a gust of wind or even by a cat jumping on the car. There can also be Glass breakage detectors that are meant to trigger on the sound of a window being broken that can also be way too sensitive. I used to live near Kingsford Smith (Sydney) airport, directly under the flight path. The sound of a jet taking off overhead would often trigger car alarms in the street.
