Doing Mongol Rally-Need New Engine Advice

I am currently in Osh, Kyrgyzstan and have a toyota yaris that engine has exploded due to a broken conrod. I know nothing about cars. My car is a 1 liter engine and a local person is trying to find me an engine to replace mine with. As I am in Kyrg it is rare and I want to know if its possible to use a 1.3 liter engine to replace mine with? If so there is one available that the locals can try to put into my car. thank you for your help!

I don't think there is anyone on this forum overly familiar with the 1.0L or the 1.3L. Mostly North Americans here with 1.5L.

I don't think it's a straight forward swap though. Pretty sure you are best off sourcing a 1.0L and stuffing it in. Especially since you are watching the clock.

Good luck!
