Need rear brake help! Star wheel/spring combo won't reattach
Hi all,
I've done a number of repairs/maintenance on my 09 Yaris thanks to this forum, so thank you for that! But now it's time to replace my rear brake shoes and I'm stuck. I'm having an impossible time reattaching the star wheel/spring setup that goes across the top. I can't seem to keep the shoes, wheel cylinder, and star wheel slots all lined up properly with the shoe to get it on right, and the way the spring wraps around it is hindering my being able to turn the slots to line up. Managed to puncture a wheel cylinder in the process so... Not having a great time at this and I haven't been able to find any kind of tutorials where with a brake that's set up the same. Is there a trick to this part? Is there a specific order to replace the springs that might make this easier? Thank you! Last edited by msapocalypse; 10-08-2016 at 06:28 PM. Reason: Attaching photo |
