Air Freshener - effective way!
So if you like the TV ad on how to keep your laundry smelling fresh longer and you want to bring it into your daily commute, here is how!
Look into your laundry room for this scent booster, any brand will do, if you don't have it, add to your shopping list for the weekend run. Drop a dozen or 2 beads into the cabin filter, on the top side may I add! The dirty intake side. Reinstall the filter and that's it, smelling fresh each time you turn on the blower, hot or cold! Because these beads are concentrated scent, don't over do it. |

Just got the same container from Costco when it was on sale a few months ago! Will try this soon! Does it beat smearing charcoal on the air filter itself?

Well, it sounds like a good idea. However, you are exposing yourself to a host of highly toxic chemicals (in a confined space) and increasing your risk of developing a variety of health problems... some very serious.

That product's scent is overpowering even when used sparingly in it's correct application (laundry). I'd be sneezing up a storm with it in the ventilation system of the car.

well, all scented products are chemical based, at least this type is designed for laundry and for close contact to human skins, so can't be any worst than those hanging from your rearview mirrors or clipped to the vents!
If you want natural method, try out mint leaves from your herb garden! |

agreed with Kimona, those scented products are brutal for your health and even more so in a confined space as stated. Excellent idea though, just use a few drops of your favourite essential oil instead, great smell without the endocrine disrupting chemicals.
Fwiw there is no regulations when it comes to air freshners since it is not an ingestible poduct, it's a big industry loophole.

Don't. There is a good chance they would go moldy in there.
