IMHO, for safety, every car should have fender markers and rear amber turn signals; it just makes the car's movements so much more visible.

Could be wrong, but I don't think the xD mirrors fit generation 3 models.

No but I did install repeaters in the mirror housing.

Well, I think you did a great job, and it looks perfect!

But after reading through your thread, I realise it's not an easy job to get done.

This from your last post:

Trying and trying again to get that wire past an obstacle until finally giving up and figuring out how to remove said obstacle. Learning as I went and being somewhat timid about taking the next step, afraid that I might damage something along the way. "Should I really be yanking on this this hard?"..."Something else must be holding it"...Stop...Inspect...No..."Yank harder and hope nothing breaks"...Repeat. There was a lot of that."

It was a bit of a learning curve. A lot of time was spent on things other than the actual wiring. Now that I know more about how my car is put together I could probably do this mod in half the time. Didn't mean to scare anybody off. This is definitely a doable mod for someone with a little bit of skill and a lotta bit of patience.

I'm too disgusted that side-mirror flashers aren't standard no-brainer safety equipment on every car, to do what you did & go through the hassle of getting them from overseas markets and installing them. Instead, we now get Toyota Safety Sense bloat, for distracted, drunk and/or dementia drivers - but still no side-mirror flashers that provide passive 24/7 benefit to everyone. Classic.

What about fitting fender repeaters? Would you be willing to drill holes in your fenders? Would the wiring be simpler?

I'm considering buying a white 2016, parking it beside my white 2014 and making a clean "face-swap". Maybe, I should employ ccyaris from Pasadena (about 40 minutes from me) to assist with the procedure.

Would a byproduct of this be your wife driving the 2016 (with the 2014 face) and you driving the lowered 2014 (with the 2016 face)?

Anytime kimono, I am also planning fender markers and wing mirror indicators (safety) as done in a previous post using dremel tool to shave and fit.

I was parked beside a new Ferrari yesterday and was looking at the small round fender marker lights (that have a thin black housing). Of course, they were beautiful.

What about installing small round fender markers like this:

They only require a 3/4" round hole for easy installation. They're available in clear, smoked, and amber lenses.

Thanks for the idea kimona, my design philosophy is to use Toyota or OEM pieces, so I would go with the Aussie fender marker, I am sure I could massage it to fit.
