P0607 and p0138 cel codes
I have a p0138 and a p0697 cel code on my 2012 Yaris, that as 65 000km.
The cell appered 2 days after I instaled led lights on the car. I did not modify the wiring of the car, I simply added a wiring harness to the battery positive and negative poles. Can this be the cause (I don't think so)? Anybody had a the same codes? P0138: issue with second 02 sensor after the cat (voltage related) P0607: issue at ECU (voltage related) Thanks. |

I removed the led harness without a change in cel codes. I the led instal is just a coincidence.
People online seem to suggest the possibility of the 02 sensor triggering both cel. |

"P0138 is the OBD-II generic code indicating the O2 sensor for bank 1 sensor 2 fails to have a lower voltage output below 1.2 volts for more than 10 seconds indicating a lack of oxygen in the exhaust stream."
"The P0697 code is a generic powertrain code related to computer output circuit issues, including an internal computer failure. In this case, the engine control module (ECM) or other supporting control module has detected a fault with the sensor reference voltage “C” circuit." I would check your O2 sensor after the Cat and make sure its not damaged

The CEL wnet off 1Km before the I got to the dealer. Cost me 95$ for them to tell me it probably is the O2 sensor.
I am going to start to check how to change it, to do it myself and save some cash. |

Did not replace it. The code went away, and after a week, it came back, without the P0138 code for the O2 sensor.
My used car warranty finishes in a few days, but in their system, the issue is there. I hope they won't fight me for the repairs on the car, if any are needed. |

I had that ecu code when I did my engine swap iirc. When I disabled the immobilizer and removed a few wires I didn't plug the holes yet. Salt water for in the holes and triggered the code.
Luckily it dried out, I plugged the holes and never had an issue since. Were you driving through a lot of water by any chance?

No water today. The first time it showed, there was, but the dealer checked and the o2 sensor was dry (first time was o2 and ecu codes. Today, just ECU codes.
I have a dealer receipt with the codes dated from last week. It should be enough to back myself up. I also sent an email to my salesman, explaining the situation, and that I am expecting this issue to pass under warranty. I hope there won't be any issues. Thanks for the help!! |

Actually now that I remember I had an O2 code alongside my ecu code. Both were a result of water getting into the ecu. There is actually nothing wrong with the O2 sensor itself, the issue is with the ecu in the area that controls the O2 sensor which causes a change in voltage and triggers that O2 sensor code
Any chance your yaris is a flood salvaged car even from somewhere else and then imported to your province? After every flood that always seems to happen and it could cause your issue

Could be. There were floods earlier this year. I bought it from a dealer, who bought it from another one. No way of knowing for sure. I had inspected it myself, and no trace of flooding was apparent, except maybe a missing plug rear driver side. To have flooded the ecu, the water would of had to be high, tho.
I will call my dealer tomorrow. Thanks for the idea. |

Still did not find the source, still comes every 2 weeks, car still drives fine...
might go to the dealer one last time to check if they find the issue. If they don't, I will though it out until another symptom shows.. |

The CEL came back this morning, so I went to the dealer again. I am waiting to see if they find anything.
