Better alternative to front bumper push pins/retainer clips for 2009 Hatch?
I've had the front off a few times due to light bulb changes and have managed to bust some of the pins... is there a sturdier alternative to these things? Like ones that expand with a Phillips head screw insert that will fit?
I've seen a few threads but no actual part numbers that are a direct fit and will work... |

The OEM pins are expansion type. I have the original from 2009 and removed the front 5 times. Depends how you pulled them off?

To follow up - I found some plastic expanding screw in ones that are easier to remove and seems a little sturdier than the Toyota ones. I ended going with these and couldn't be happier:

Zip tie. I use zip ties where ever I can loop it, like the top bumper clips. Haha

+1 on the Zip ties.
When I had the clips come of the under tray, I temporarily zip tied it back up, as a service was nearly due. I asked the service rep to replace them, and he said the original clips get damaged and fall out very easily. Their policy was to replace any missing clips with zip ties. Yes, this was at the Toyota dealership...

So nobody feels like applauding the OP for sourcing out and posting up some proper reusable push pins. Not everyone feels like going ghetto with zip ties, even if they do function perfectly.

Looks good, I just found similar clips for sale here in Australia.
I sure hope they are cheaper for you in the US. My 'local" (15 kilometers away) car parts store has tem for $6.29 a pack. a "pack" is either three 1/4 inch clips or two 3/8 inch clips. I guess it's time to crawl under the Yaris to see how many and what size I need. Thanks to Firebird for finding these, and WeeYari for the reminder that we are all here to help each other.

They break and fall out easily.
Hearing a loud clunk and scraping noise when they let go and the under tray hit the road surface wasn't the best thing to happen on the highway. See my earlier comment. The Toyota dealer's service rep agreed there is a problem with the originals and stated they replace missing clips with cable ties...

weird. I have threaded bolts on the bottom of my bumper. push clips are only on the top and the wheel well on mine. (07) I've never had any break or fall out. I do find it strange that the push clips on yaris are different than the ones on corolla/camry.

The official toyota repair manual indicates the front bumper cover is held by 6 clips at the top, 2 screw grommets (one near each side), and at the bottom 7 screws and 3 bolts. This is for the sedan. There are also spec in the manual for the hartchback. Can anyone tell me the size and part # of each of these fasteners?

I recently replaced my headlamps and needed new pins (old ones crumble.) I bought these Amazon ones and they fit and appeared like OEM for my 07 hatch.

I've had very mixed results with ordering the OEM part numbers off the diagrams. There are some very small ones with a textured head that barely fit and will fall out if the bumper cover holes are wallowed at all, barely engage the metal holes. I've got a few different styles at home that I've used with varying success. I'll try and remember to get a picture of them with part numbers.
