Great pics. That spot would make for great HDR pics! I'd go back around that same time, and redo the first pic. Change the angle of the car and camera so that the power line/pole is no longer in the frame, and if possible, keep the light house to the side of the car. Then take enough pics to generate an awesome, realistic HDR render! The second pic would work really well in HDR as well provided you can go back on a day with similar conditions (clouds, sunset, etc).
