A/c problems
Hi all, my a/c has stopped working, I brought the car in November 2020
The owner then said he had the a/c recharged with gas, but now it not working The green light is on but I don’t hear a click or any Rev difference, does the Yaris 2007 have relays for me to check? Also is my a/c a clutchless type as it looks like It always engaged even when the a/c is turned off, I think maybe it shuts down when low on gas, any help would be great before I take it to a garage, Thank you |

Okay I did think I might have a leak somewhere as the original owner mentioned to me a few times he’s had the a/c re-gassed, so it’s the a/c clutch supposed to always be engaged even when turned off in the car?
Thank you |

Our compressor has an internal clutch. Visually, it appears that the clutch is always engaged.
You need to get a pressure test done as a first step. If you're low, then you have a leak. If pressure is fine, then your next likely point of failure is the pressure sensor. Failure of that component is rare but is exactly what shut my a/c down.
