2014 Yaris Engine mounts
Hi there,
I'm possibly going to be doing this job for my partner as Toyota has screwed her around a few times. I just want to know how many mounts these cars have as I've read that there can be 4? I am mechanically minded and I mostly work on my car which is a Merc SL55, her car is a 2014 year model. I have a jack as well as power tools etc, would anyone also be able to provide the part numbers etc? her poor car has around 130k miles and has never had this job done. Thanks for your responses, I really appreciate it. |

Yaris is not SL55, engine mounts are perfectly OK after 130k miles :P

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply, she has 152k miles and when the garage replaced her serpentine belt they stated the mounts are worn. She doesn't trust the garage as they did not tighten the engine mounts and it's screwed things up apparently, I did hear the belt squeal on start up... even in sunny Florida. Would I need to replace the transmission mount also?

Belt squeal has absolutely nothing to do with engine mounts. The belt will need to be tensioned again shortly after install. Some brands of belts are also notorious for squealing no matter what you do. There is a 99.9% probability there is nothing to be addressed with either engine or tranny mounts. Their serviceable life goes well beyond the age and use of the car.

I'll double check tomorrow when I go to visit. She took it to pep boys, so that would make sense why they'd say there is X amount wrong... Sadly they will try to fleece, I thought it could've been a belt tensioner personally. Either way, thank you so much for the response I appreciate it. I'll let you know tomorrow.

We do not have a tensioner. Has to be done manually.
