was on a hunt for a gen1xb and this came up and i just couldnt pass it up and we needed something "cheep" and good on fuel and now when i got it
had been in comunication with a guy over a gen 1 for far too long and felt like the deal was a bust so grabbed this gen2 as my wife calls it "patch" 600$xb that was being parted....not wrecked, just the guy got a low mile wrecked one...200k on the clock, wifes loveing it yes ALL of the parts came home in the yaris..who knew a hatch would fit in a yaris with a bumper as well?!?!?!...aside from failing o2 sensor and semi bad rear wheel bearing its been pretty faultless...having put only about 400 into it....planing on painting it a purple metalic next year..havnt settled on a paint code yet...abused daily! |

"deer hit"
this xb i was trying to get a deal worked out over..but it kept getting pushed back due to snow etc..in the end i traded an old 1980 (no title) xl500s for it..drove for more than 8 hours 1 way to get it..broke into a migrane hell so wife towed it home with me suffering riding shotgun now mind you this poor xb looks bad...really bad, but honestly its not, 70k on the clock so lower miles than the yaris, mind you the work required to fix it looks alot harder than it is, so far ive got less than 300 into pieceing it back together, ater only replacing the broken intake manifold it ran and drove, hell even the AC still works! folder stacked with reciepts and upgrades like the thulle rack, hidden hitch,5spd trans rebuild, new tires and partial suspension, extra key fobs n keys, all the maintinance records dealer installed TRD cold air..the list goes on n on the plan was to keep only 1 but damnit they are cute bastards so going to paint this one the magenta pink metalic amc used in the late60s early 70s....i mean under the body its an echo heart n soul to the bones |

heres the continuation of it ...both upper rails were shot the right one shot from a previous incedent..so i had to replace them..of course i replaced them the same way the factory put them in..so its actualy dead nuts on spec of how it left the factory...moneys been tight so its stalled out but, aside from finished some welds and pre prep painting its fixed...just need to buy a handfull of new things like some splash pans, headlights winshield
still not sure how the hell the radiator and ac system survived the impact and broke the intake manifold..and i mean put a HOLE in it and broke the TB clean off...aside from needing "tweaked" back straight they show no signs of impact...yes the whole fan assembly was shattered |

as it sits it now shoes ZERO signs of ever being hit..thats the kind of repair i did, replaced spot weld for spot weld..the exception is its got more rust proofing and paint than it ever did before

I used to ride a lot with this favorite bicycle of mine...
But now it's starting to collect dust due to a bicycle accident 2 years ago. |
