to me it just seems a silly claim.... if you are going to claim OVER 100hp then the kit should bare min show on a dyno 100.1whp gain.... that is just common sence to me.... not sure what anyone else thinks
again... I am not bashing the kit, or ZPI... only the claim they made I am not trying to sound like a dick, but I am one that is a stickler for #'s

Got, da** college. Yes it does increase gas mileage, as long as you stay out off the boost. Which I think that the turbo for the yaris(vitz) starts spooling at 3000 rpm. Which is good because most cars shift between 2000-3000 rpm unless you need that extra get go on the highway, or whatever. I think you will get atleast 2-3 miles per gallon more. I'm am not sure what premium grade gas you use, but it all depends on how much boost you want to run on. Hopefully by around January when I am done with college I hope the ones that are buying this has at least have around 3000 miles on the car, and fresh maintenance on the car. The price seems pretty reasonable at 3k+ shipping. I will give you guys a call when the time comes, I have to drive a lot more miles on the car before the officially break in on the engine.
Oh yea one more question ZPI I see that you have the stage 1 head, and the pistons, are you going to make like rods, crank, bearings, forged parts for the yaris?? I want at least a 12'second car. I still have my camry for dd... Which will be about 210-230whp. Not trying to go all out or anything.. But you get the idea.

The auto tranny kit runs the same boost as the 5speed the transmission is the cause for the lower power as well as a less aggressive tune.
As far as power goes the stock Yaris we borrowed from the dealership to build our exhaust on spun the dyno to a tune of 81whp. This is the same dyno as we ran Nick and he made 184whp. This number is figurative regardless, any car can fluctuate power based on a number of things. I think stating 100whp add on is within reason and gives the customer a general idea of the increase in which they will receive. Some will undoubtedly be higher and some lower that is with anything. Most companies quote % numbers. We try to stay away from this as I feel it to be misleading. Let me know if you guys have any other questions. |
