New system being installed
I got bored.
Pioneer speakers front and back. Lanzar 1200w 4 channel amp. Hifonics Brutus 2000w monoblock. (for two 12" subs[clif designs, test for now till I get JL or Kickers]) And this: Kenwood DDX8019 (In-dash double din monitor/dvd receiver) KNA-g510 (Navi system) KTC-HR100TR (HD Radio Tuner) KCA-iP500 (iPOD interface) Oh, this is getting installed in about two hours from now. I will try not to blast the system to much, I'll post pictures and updates within a few days(once the custom sub box is done and installed, so it doesnt look like crap lol) |

What's the point of that? If you've got the crossover points and gain set up properly, you shouldn't be able to damage anything.

I know, this system is too loud. The speakers hurt my ears, and this is with the gain most of the way down. Imagine if I set the gains higher!! Also, the amp is currently just hooked up to one 4-ohm 12" 600w sub. Its alright, its loud but doesn't hit like I would like. But atleast I know I can upgrade to a solo x 12" 2500w rms and be fine with this amp.(which is something I may do in a month or two anyway) As for how it sounds? Good, maybe a 8 out of 10 right now. But I need to adjust its 100 settings on the monitor/amp.
Anyway, I need to buy the yaris kit for the double-din. Cause there is a gap between it. Thank you tiksman for the information on that part. I will post pictures of the amps and headunit in the morning! Don't curse me out on the amps, I need to re-do the trunk, the idiots layed down inside of it and crushed the thing. So I'm planning to build a wood platform, lower it, give me more trunk space(no spare tire), and then build a special box for the sub(s). Wish me luck. I like to hear good sounding music, which is why my widescreen tv has a Bose system, my computer has a 700w surround sound system, and now my car has an inzanely loud system. Ok, no more blabbing, pic's in the morning. Last edited by Lafiro; 05-22-2007 at 01:12 AM. |

Pics
Do not get to me as to why its a mess, I put it together just to hear the thing. I need to now make boxes, but first need to figure out where they will go.
Then I will worry about running the cables correctly and neatly. I also need to get the indash kit as I mentioned to get rid of that empty space on the sides of the monitor. Other then that, this system sounds real good so far. Next month or two, I will trade in these 4-ohm 600rms subs(getting 800watts from the amp, and get the Kicker Solo X 12" which is 2500watts at 1-ohm. My amo throws out 2600watts at 1-ohm. Perfect match :) |

Correction, I upgraded to the 2600w version ;)
It sounds good. I dont think I need more bass then two 12"s are giving me, but I do like the idea of the 2500watt 1-ohm Kicker Solo X |

damn clean that mess up in the trunk lol.....
gotta make it presentable..... definately good choice on the brutus, and the HU. I have the flip out pioneer but have realized I would rather have the double din, moving parts suck......
