I got a new set of Hanook H727, finally got rid of the Goodyear LS factory clunkers, and thought,I just filled up about 30 miles ago, so let me see how they do with standard 32 psi vs my normal 40 psi. So I did 38.8 mpg and thought, not bad! I got home after fill up and decided to go back to my 40psi to see what happens. Pulled out the trusty tire gauge and I'll be danged if they weren't all at 25 psi! I was ticked! Used both of my tire gauges to verify. Stupid installer! But it made me more impressed with the tires. Also explains part of why they rode so much smoother too,lol

Here's the no bar and bar
. As for tire pressure , always check the pressure after getting new tires or exchange of seasonal tires . Also , make sure the wheel covers are on correctly and snug . Usually do these right at the dealer lot . One time the salesman seen me checking tire pressure and says in a nasty tone " what do you think you're doing " . I replied , " checking the tire pressure " . Like I don't have a right to do so . Next time will check these things a block away so not to pee off anyone .

Only about 33000. Which is more than some, less than others. And realistically, with another rotation, they were good for 3-5000 more. But winter is right around the corner and I didnt want to chance it. If ya wait till it snow you wait forever. November around here you dont know what to expect.

'08 sedan w/ 4 speed auto : 39.53 m.p.g. using SUNOCO 87 w/E10 with 2 bars left
Eco-Meter : 39.6 ( set @ 95 ) Calculated : 39.53 ( 372.9 mis. / 9.431 gals. @ 1 click ) Refilled with BJs Wholesale 87 w/E10 . Reset E.M. to 96 , that way it'll hopefully read a little lower than the actual gas mileage . Tires are Blizzak WS 70s set at 36 p.s.i.. Last edited by Hershey; 12-16-2011 at 12:31 AM. |

'08 Yaris sedan w/ 4 speed auto : 42.916 using Valero 87 w/E10
Eco-Meter : 43 ( set @ 96 ) Calculated : 42.916 ( 164.2 mis. / 3.826 gals. ) Refill of Valero 87 w/E10 at 1 click . 2 people for whole tank . Temp of 42+ and winds of 15+ m.p.h.. Many hills as well . 4 Bridgestone Blizzak WS 70s' at 35.5 p.s.i. and using Shell synthetic 5w-20 ( SN ) . Was getting 45.3 when arrived at pet store . So , likely 44.7 or so since the calculated milage is usually less . Pics of Eco at pet store and during the fill before going home : Last edited by Hershey; 01-01-2012 at 09:18 PM. |

2011 3dr 5spd (stock), 13,000+ miles
Best 41.02mpg Avg 37.63mpg Worst 35.12mpg I have only reached over 40mpg's twice. My best tank was this last tank. Two tanks ago, halfway through I decided to try and get over 40mpg's. I did! The next tank (second to last measured tank) I tried to get over 40mpg's over the whole tank, I fell short 39.something. So this last tank I decided that coasting, slowly starting (rpm's under 2,500), and utilizing the DFCO function was too boring. So more than a few times I went through first and second gear just shy of 6,000 rpms (it is just more fun). I was just hoping to get above 35mpg's and wouldn't you know it, I got my best mpg's to date. I did drive conservatively occasionally during this tank, so it wasn't like I was always zipping around.

Two fill ups ago I had the first oil change and had them put synthetic 0-20 in my 2012 Yaris 5 speed. Since then on the past two tankfuls I got 43.4 and 43.2 MPG.
In addition to synthetic oil I run 40 lbs of pressure in the tires.

Over Winter break I found that the best way to get incredible gas mileage in a yaris is to go to florida, haha. I was doing high 40's or so mpg. The ultralight wheels garm sold me help; but I guess just getting out of tennessee and driving like a granny helps. Anyone wanna volunteer to go to florida and see?
