Why do the front megan racing coilovers stick out so much from the shock towers? It's not clearing for putting everything back together 😥

I don't think you got that install quite right. They should poke a little with the car on the ground, but that's not correct right there.

Definitely not correct. Did you take the stock bearing out of the stock metal hat? That spacer goes below the bearing iirc so thats out of order as well
You CANNOT follow the Megan instructions they are way wrong! |

The Coilover Thread
I too installed megans this weekend. Ran in to a lot of problems but Okay! Update time! I went to a friend who has a dream garage with a lift and everything, disassembled and had another veteran mechanic take a look at what i had. Turned out i needed bumpstops im the rear and had a washer and grommet in the wrong place.
****Most of the problems were places where i made metal on metal contact. **** Reinstalled everything and she is runnin like a goddam beauty. Smooth as hell. Ive read they are really hard even on the softest setting but to me it feels buttery where i have the rears on all the way hard.. I guess its way better than MI springs on stock shocks :P The only thing now is in the front there is no clearence to adjust the dampening and the collars on top side of the strut tower sit loose. Normal? There wasnt any noise coming from the fronts even when hitting bumps so im not sure. I too did not find a place for all the spacers On the ride home i was sure to hit some twisties and omg, what a world of difference. Absolutely no body roll. It was like the car was flat the whole way round. Totally worth every sweat drop and penny. Big thank you to phil (1.5), garm, jeff for the help and toyotabuzz for the kit!

Glad to hear you got it all going dude. From the pics you pm'd you still look to have some things in the wrong order but maybe that pm was prior to this post didnt look at the time stamp.
Be careful going full hard i think that may have been partially the cause of me blowing my rear strut almost out of the box. They are fun though!!! |

So long as you don't thread that adjustable part of the rear all the way in, you shouldn't have to worry too much about blowing a shock out. I've been on full hard (lol) for the past year almost and it's all gravy here :D

You mean the nut on the bottom part of the shock right?

or is saying, dont over adjust, you can break a seal that way, and get shock oil everywhere.
