Welcome TrancosRT! When you have your Yaris, please compare it with your current car - the Prizm, which I know is a Corolla under a GM Brand name. I hope to see your findings.

I finally got my Blazing Blue Yaris yesterday. I love it. It was deffinately the best buy I could have made. I love the little hidden features like the storage bins next to the spare tire...the extra compartment above the steering wheel...and so on. This car never ceases to amaze me the more i look at it.

Sounds good. Remember you'll be in the break in period. So just don't drive it too hard at first. |

According to what are said on Page 178 of my 06 Canadian HB's manual, the car does not need an elaborate break-in. Nevertheless, the manual does provide some tips on what to do during the first 1,000 miles (1,600 km) to help improve the future economoy and longevity of the car.

It may vary between cars, but the usual or general rule of thumb is about 1K, it should say in the manual. Hope that helps and congrats!!

hi! I got my Yaris Liftback (5 speed manual) and I'm pretty happy with it, so far. I'm mad that it doesn't have a tachometer, and the gearing is too short, atleast 5th should be way longer. I'm also annoyed I couldn't get my manual transmission liftback with the power package, even moreso that the Scion xA is a 5door (instead of 3 door USDM liftback) AND has PW,PL,PM,cruise,ABS, Pioneer CD/MP3/6speaker, etc.etc. STANDARD for only $1105 more than a base model Yaris :( but, it's a nice car.
The Yaris is my 4th car, I have a bunch of other project cars that I abuse at will. The Yaris is sacred, for now atleast. Owner's Manual says 1000 miles (1600km) break in period. Don't keep the car at one speed for too long. Keep below 4000rpm (approximately). It's also nice to let the engine warm up before driving off (atleast let the blue "COOL" light turn off). If you're gonna swap over to synthetic fluids, don't do it until 10,000 miles (16,000 km).
