It's awesome!
I'm still trying to get used to, me and my Yaris was like "all is one"

This baby it's bigger, heavier, and everybody looks at it, everybody is looking to race against.

I just made it a little over 2K miles, and even though this car is capable of 38 MPG (measured manually at the pump (miles/gallons) an average of 34 MPG it's a good number and cruise control pulls down the MPG to 30 but that's also because the up and downs in New England, but cruising on a flat highway at 65 mph and the MPG goes up a lot, it peaks at 49 MPG.
But the real problem it's the Turbo!

Yes this car is so much fun, the little Turbo and 7 speed double clutch makes you floor it down at every light/intersection or just passing trucks/cars on the highway, shifting from 7th gear manually down to 4th gear at 70 mph the Turbo comes alive and in seconds you are above 120 mph. The CLA transforms from a little mellow ride to an explosion of speed and acceleration, the gears change so quickly and the exhaust just makes it a real pleasure.

I have to keep an eye on the speedo, 80 mph comes very quickly and I just can't tell how fast I'm going without looking at the cluster. On the corners it's not as fun like a Lowered Yaris with a rear sway bar, here is where my Yaris was better, besides the 42 MPG I was getting on regular gas.

It's very quite, still my Yaris had some better deadening, but in general it's a good ride and I'm not going to have to treated top to bottom.

Next week it's schedule for Tinting (50%) to keep it legal.

I really like the Blue Tooth and how it talks to my iPhone

The sound system it's impressive for a stock set up, but it's not great! and it's driving me crazy, even though has good tonality the image it's all WRONG! and I'm dying to have my stage again.

I'm waiting for some stuff I ordered:

-4 Gauge cable
-RCA cables
-a couple of speakers (no I'm not telling what kind of speakers I'm getting) but I'm going to proof that it doesn't matter how much you pay for your speakers it's the way you install them and tuning what makes them sound good!
-a pair of ID Horns (YES horns for the CLA)
-and more

Yes! The system it's going to be simple and sound really good. Everything I learned here and with my Yaris will help in this set up.

This is the plan so far:
2 way active system:
Mid/Bass from 80Hz up to 800Hz in kick area
Horns from 800Hz up to 20kHz under the dash
12" woofer installed in the trunk as Free Air (IB)
1 amp 75 watts x 4 + 200 watts x 1 to keep it simple but... (I'll have an extra amp for Mid/bass if need it at 175 watts x 2)
1 DSP (an Audison Bit Ten D) looks like buying a Bit Ten + Control it's more expensive than going with the Bit Ten D that includes control.

My first plan is to keep all OEM audio system, so I get to keep the Blue Tooth and other cool functions, and have my system completely apart and have an iPod feeding the Bit Ten D

This way I can Demo OEM and Custom for comparison.

Wish me luck, install starts next week! or as soon as I make space in the garage, you know how that goes lol

D,

Which horns and lenses are you buying?

When you get them I have arranged for one of my friends, who used to run ID horns, to work with you over the phone and e-mail to get them fabbed in, placed, and tuned correctly.

Just let us know when the arrive and I'll get you two connected.

I know Eric. Small world, we were in the IASCA finals together. Different classes and all.

When you get the horns, calm yourself. I know you'll want to just throw them right in and start pumping out music. Get yourself a visual with them in the car. Take an hour or so just looking at placement. Then think on several different ideas and approaches for install for a week or so. Take lots of pics and share them on here. I'll take those pics and throw them at Drew Snapp for some suggestions.

It bears better fruit when you let ideas in your mind's eye mature.

I know what you mean, I've been crawling down there for long periods of time, just thinking about the horns, at the beginning I was going to get Mini horns but looks like the full size body will fit, I'll take pictures and share for sure.

Trying to get Jim (your friend) on the phone to order the Bit Ten D, but he has been busy. I'll try tomorrow.

Last week I spoke with him and he mention that I would loose my volume controls on the steering wheel, that is why I was thinking on doing a complete separate system. I guess I still need to dig more information, like... where do I get the speakers signal to feed the Bit Ten? if I go that way do I get to keep the Blue Tooth? or just go with plan "B"?

On the other hand today was raining and I spotted a little road noise coming from the rear left door hitting my left ear, so I got some work to do there!

Thanks for all the help

D.

Absolutely I can see the benefit using horns in this install

That was my warning. Those mini lenses might be an option if you can't seem to fit the full sized bodies in there. E.S. will take care of you I'm sure.

Also, we're running 20lbs of boost of the new turbo. 24lbs leaned the fuel out too much at mid RPM. I'm having the shop limit the WHP for reliability to ONLY low 400's. :)

Size is good for the CLA, I just didn't realize the size of the horns, never seen them in person!

Turbo is NICE! 400 ponies are speechless
