Good news for CND 2008 Sedan owners.. The wiring is there to the ECN. I will assume all the wiring in the steering wheel is also present..
Not sure about the US version of 2008 Sedan and if the wiring to the ECN is there.. Here is a photo I took of the ECN connector.. |

I have that blue wire but the one connecting that blue wire to D3 is absent. So you should take off the three screws holding the bottom of the column cover on to check. It doesn't even take 5 minutes.

Before I make any modifications, can anyone confirm if I in fact have the CC wires. I've been looking at my wires for a while and the DYI guide, and it's hard for me to tell if I do or don't.

You do not. See the white connector with the one black wire - That would have a brown and blue as well if you did.

Thank you CT, I didn't even notice that one until you pointed it out lol.
And success, installed and working like a charm. Thx to CT for the indication box, and the PDF. Although I think the DIY PDF reads wrong about the location of A21. "4. Run the positive wire (red wire on last page pictures) to pin 40 of ECM connector A21. This connector is the one on the right plugged into the ECM (left side of the engine bay if you are standing in front of the car). You must first cut the ziptie, push the clips (I used a small screwdriver) and undo the hooks to remove the cover as shown by nickhjort in the following picture. Then you push the little rubber that is in the pin40 out with a pin and get your wire through. I suggest that you skin the wire on 1-2 cm, twist it and then cut it as close as possible to the connector after you pulled it from the other side." On my car A21 is the right side of the ecm when I'm standing in front of the car, it's the smaller one of the two. When you read the above paragraph from the DYI PDF, it starts to say right side, then goes to say "left side of engine bay if you are standing in front of the car". This threw me off, so I wrestled with the other connection which is a lot harder to get off for a while, till I realized I had the wrong one. LOL anyway just wanted to point that out. And of course I do appreciate the DYI, because I was close to having the dealer install it for me for the tune of $500 big ones.

I just finished a 1000 mile trip with the 2 button cruise control and I liked it so much that I upgraded to a variation on the 4 button version. While on the road I picked up a MOMENTARY-OFF-MOMENTARY toggle switch (at HSC Electronics in California, $1.49). I now have Up=RES/+ and Down=SET/- on the switch, a low profile Microswitch push button for On/Off and a C&K white pushbutton for Cancel.
By using 3 differently shaped controls, I can feel the difference, so I don't need to be able to see them. I had the push buttons in my stash. The toggle switch is similar to this: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...name=EG2388-ND Note also this is a 2010 Yaris automatic, stripped down (no power package), and it had the cruise control wiring in place. |

i have one question here.
My yaris D3 connector has one cable (black). When i remove this connector, the horn stops working. is it the horn connector ? what kind of power does this cable provide. Negative or positive ? also the pin 40 on the ECM doesnt contain any sort of power when i check it with a power meter. Is it supposed to have any pulse or something? i am just a little worried to not damage the ECM by doing this sort of a setup. Is it safe ?? 100% ?? :p

Scott... It appears for my 08 CND Sedan, the wire run from the ECU to AD4 is there, and what is missing is the wire run from AD4 to D3..
Since AD4 is tucked way in the top left side of the inner dash, not sure if you have ever taken apart your Yaris's top dash, and if you have noticed if both ends of AD4 have the light blue wire.. I am really hoping Toyota has the wire run from AD4 to D3, but only decided to tuck away the run from AD4 to D3 some where. I would find it odd that all of the other wiring is there as even the clutch switch is there, but they manufactured the wire harness with only missing the run from AD4 to D3 What do you think? Getting to AD4 requires removing the top of the dash. The wire from AD4 to D3 is definitely not tucked, as it would be part of the harness that also contains the horn wire. |

For the other, which just has the black wire, the best quick test is to measure the voltage on the ECM pin (A21-Pin 40) with the ignition on. If CC is active on the ECM, then that pin will have 12V on it. |

Hello!
I have a question, I hope you all don't mind.... I have an 08 liftback, MT, without wiring. I've installed the buttons and the wiring to ground and ECM. I don't have a harness for the clutch switch, so I need to rig the switch to go into the fuse box in the engine bay. (If this is wrong please correct me) The clutch switch has two contacts, so I assume I run two wires off of those contacts into the fuse box. My question is which wire goes where? Looking at the picture on the top of the 4th page of the pdf, I'm not entirely sure. |
