Can't wait to see the update pics sqcomp!!

----
Towards the OT discussion on buying equipment.
I've always found online prices to be significantly cheaper than local dealers, period.
All the local shops i've been to.. treat me like crap. I get the usual "What.. In a yaris?"
People never take me seriously either, because i'm 18. I gave up on it.

I got all of my gear at discount.. In fact i bought the majority off eBay when the 30% cashback event was taking place. Other deals were simply found through forums.. You'll be amazed at how crazy some of these bargains are. Here's a rough idea of what i paid in the end.

• re audio 6.5 xxx component -- 150
• eclipse mk2 cd7200 -- 280
• dls a3 -- 200
• jl 300/2 black-- 150

Subwoofer selection has swapped around drastically for me.
• Pair of 8w7's... bought for 300, sold for 420. (Used ebay cashback, sold it locally)
• Pair of Diyma R12's...Bought for 150. Sold one.
• Stereo integrity v4... won it from diyma-review giveaways.. (50$ shipping)

I haven't had a single problem with the quality of my gear, thus far. Everything was purchased brand new and has worked flawlessly.. The only downside was the time spent searching for bargains. Took me about 2 months.. If you want manufacturer support however, you'll be out of luck.

My advice... Just check the classified sections found at audio forums daily.

As for shop tools...You really don't need them.
The essentials : Jigsaw, router, drill, and space-

What are b-stock legatias ?? And how much would they cost ?

I really wish i put more time into researching my midrange woofers before i hopped out and bought my re audio xxx set. They're not so much sq oriented in comparison to others, but i guess that's fine--since it's still the clearest set of woofers i've owned. It's ok, The bass output is wicked. There's such a vast selection... For my next install i'll probably grab some hybrid audio-

I was beginning to think this thread had died on us. Good to see it is still hanging in there. ( since SqComp's system is NOT "officially" finished! )

( will it ever be? ) Probably not.

Nothing wrong with that, a hobby is a hobby. A career is a career.
It's all good.

NOW... let me say: COOL to see you trying a vented IDMAX 12!

Let us know how that turns out. I'll bet you will like it.
You gonna tune that enclosure for a tight specific freq range?
You trying to get some more ultra-low bass out of your setup?

( life below 40hz, right? )

AM-yes, I am absolutely looking for performance starting at and going strong below 50 Hz. My mid bass speakers are overlapped at 40 Hz and the sub ends at 50 Hz. I have plenty of crossover ability to cease signal if I need.

Will it ever end not this year. This topic may turn out to be more of a blog onto the life of the system...

At the end of the month, I'll be replacing the tester L4SE speakers with the final push terminal types. The L8 speakers will be replaced at the end of the year with some L8SE copper phase plug types.

THEN I should be done. After that it will all be competition news. There's lots going on in team hybrids. Like I mentioned in the NW section, IASCA is going to be teaming with HAT to make a show series happen across the country. I know there will be a competition down by you too AM. SQ/SPL events...

It's a great opportunity for us Yaris owners to show our systems and get some professional input on it.
Hey... just got net again John... you'll see my face around here again in the future... haven't read through the past months worth of post yet... but will do soon.

hope all is going well.

Some times I just wonder how much more I could learn, I feel so naive when reading about these LRx, Mosconi and bi-amping Great stuff in this thread, and I like the idea of a Blog of a life time!

keep it up! and try to suck up all the information with the big guys at HAT and share it with us over here!

NAPA sells both kinds.
