How can we see the RS interior if we're in a country that doesn't get the RS? I'll still say the Yaris interior pales compared to the Fit's.

I have no hate.

IMO, the fit is hideous and that center console is absolutely nothing to lust after. I think it's ugly.

I also don't like 99% of anything Honda has ever produced, I think they make some ugly cars. Sure they're dependable but they are ugly.

here is why I chose Yaris over FIT

1) three Honda dealers I checked, all were dick-like
2) I needed a wicked small car

fit is 161.6 inches lng, yaris 150.6.

those 11 inches keep my yaris in the driveway when parked behind my 4runner

turning circle

fit is 34.4 yaris is 30.8. yaris is more of a city car than the FIT

I got Yaris mainly because it is the smallest decent car out there right now.

No, the SmartCar is not an option

I looked at the Fit, and I will admit, I liked them. But the salesman was an a$$, didn;t want to help me with my trade in, lease options, etc. The car was selling at list, so a monthly would have been well over $200 (like $249) per month. That was waaaaay past my budget, so I went to the next on my list - - the Yaris.

The dealership that I went to for my Yaris was great, and the salesman had sold me another car years before at a different dealership (small world, right?). I saw the Bayou Blue 5-door on the dealer's web site and asked about a trade in and no-money down lease. We did most of the dealing on line for the financial stuff.

When I go to the dealership, I looked it over, sat in the Yaris, and took her for a ride. I loved it right away! Not sure why I didn't go to Toyota to start with.

I gave them an old Buick and no money down. Rolled out with an '09 5-door with remote entry, power everything, and cruise control. $157 per month!

It is all the car that I need, as I spend 95% of the time in the car alone. When I do need to haul the family, the 4 doors is a blessing (I have 2 little kids that are in car seats). Busting my back at my age to get kids in and out of a 2-door just doesn't appeal, thus the 5-door. Didn't want to get the sedan, still wanted somthing a little funky.

I got a ScanGauge II for my birthday and have been able to coax 45+ mpg out of the little wonder. I will be buying this at the end of the lease...too good of a car not to keep!

To clarify, though, I do like the Fit... quite a bit actually. That's actually kind of why I posted that true pricing comparison. It is ugly from certain angles, but it has character and looks cool despite that certain element of ugliness. And let's face it, the Yaris has character that some would call ugliness too. Anyway, for those who at least kind of like the Fit, which body style do you prefer; first or second generation?

Nothing at all against the Fit. From what I hear it's a fantastic little car! I looked into it, I sat in it. I just, personally, could not get over how ugly it was. I am sure that the fit is just as good if not better than the Yaris...it's just very ugly and for that reason alone I cannot get into it and drive it. Really that simple for me!!! Very neat point made by the OP though...quite interesting for somebody really budgeting

Apparently, Fit Sports come with a rear swaybar... so add the cost of one of those to the Yaris total too.

I like the Fit, and Honda's a good company. But the Fit just isn't inexpensive enough. I didn't want all the bells and whistles (and back doors) that come standard on the Fit and for which you pay. I wanted a simple, fuel-efficient car that would be reliable and fun and would be CHEAP -- the Yaris! :)

I actually like the look of the Fit (the new style) over the Yaris, but once I drove the Fit, I decided to go Yaris. I like it's ride much better and in town, I think the Yaris out handles the Fit. But that is just my own opinion. Obviously others differ or one of the cars would cease to exist.

heh, just found the window sticker for my car while cleaning.

$12549, convenience package, all weather package, floor mats & arm rest.

add $500 for tach installed, $2200 for tires and wheels installed, a couple hundred for tint, and it is still less money.

Oh, the fits biggest problem? it's a honda...

I personally like both stylings of both cars. Yeah the price of the honda fit sorta killed the deal for me, which is why i have my yaris. :)
