I generally take a picture with my phone of the car next to me (including the plates) when they are super close or really decrepit looking.... I feel a lil better that way leaving my Yoshi all alone! and just incase something happens I know who did it!

It is not a good feeling.
As mentioned by others, I do often take note of the cars I park near. When I came back to my spot, I saw the car I parked next to. Next to it was an empty space where my car should have been. That right there is an Oh SH!T moment.

I've luckily never had a car stolen or had a prank pulled on me. My previous cars probably wouldn't have been very desirable to thieves anyhow... I'm also kinda OCD about keeping things locked and secure though too.
