My Great Wall 1NZ clone won an 800 mile endurance race with Walmart SuperTech Full Synthetic 10W-30. Going to send a sample to Blackstone.

Interesting info here, but I'm not certain that it applies to the 1NZ as well. Funny observations about global warming/climate change, but nonetheless an 'official' appearing document.

I'm interested in why and how you can say this. Every oil, dino or synthetic, has a lifespan does it not? So if you change out dino lube on schedule ie: before it fails, why should it not be OK? Even dino oil has detergents and agents in it that are the developments of research and chemistry.
And BTW: I for one won't put an all synthetic oil into an older engine that has been running dino all it's life. I've seen the proof of how old gaskets can begin weeping, and I've read why it happens. But that's just me with the evidence on the garage floor. YMMV. |

I have not shared the same leaking experience as you when switching from exclusively conventional to synthetic. The only leaks I've had likely would have occurred regardless of what oil was in the sump.

My favorite oil is ace hardware motor or regularly 499 a quart but on sale usually in June and July for $1.99.
If you read those oil analysis it’s got the same thing as any other Motor oil

I just put Pennzoil Ultra Platinum FS 5w30 in this last time. Got it on Amazon for around $23. I'm thinking seriously though about putting SuperTech FS 5w30 in next time and just sticking with that one long-term. That stuff is around $14 here. Having the oil changed regularly like I do, I imagine these FS oils are all about the same and getting the cheapest one available is the way to go.

I mostly use Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5W-30 because its What is recommended for our Citroen C4 Cactus and it’s not too expensive either.
