Your Yaris does have a block drain on the firewall side of the engine block. I don't think Toyota would have paid to put it there if it wasn't needed for a complete drain.

don't forget to keep the climate control on the hottest setting so the fluid in the heater core is flushed as well . GOOD LUCK .

Your thermostat could be stuck open and not letting your car get warm or it could just be the coolant temp sensor. The factory service manual should have ways to check them, they are cheap parts and easy to replace.

Just to be clear.... After draining it all out, I am suppose to put coolant/water back into the openig for the radiator cap, or just refill the plastic coolant container that's like a foot to the left of the radiator cap?
I emptied it (just around 1 gallon), and then was only able to put 0.5 gallon into the plastic container. So I started the engine to attempt to circulate it, but the fluid in the plastic container doesn't move and the engine overheats with the warning light, so I turned it off and took a cab. |

Fill radiator first, turn on car with heater all the way to high and make sure it's warmed up. Continue filling radiator until it's full, then fill the Reservoir (the plastic tank) last.
