Yes, now it's getting ridiculous!
I realize that bandwith can be expensive but, this is not a bandwith problem..... it's a server failure problem! A site that is down 50% of the time is doomed for failure as less and less people will visit it and this makes it even harder to get advertisers to support the site. I hate to say it but, the owner's silence on this matter speaks volumes about his lack of concern about this site. Last edited by RedRide; 02-16-2012 at 11:15 AM. |

it was tried, the owner flatly refused to consider it.
This is a wonderful idea.

I would be down for that but the MI forums are just as dead if not more than these boards.

Perhaps if we all migrated to MI...like a scheduled transfer. Maybe Garm could give us all out post count "seniority" if we all moved over at once.

I've been spending more time on the MI forum due to the service outages. It'd be great if more of us did so, too!

If we can get a large migration it would be great because then those boards will be more populous but if one or two of us go over at a time then those boards are still going to seem dead and then no one will be posting on Yaris' lol

Someone should get a website ripper and grab all the info before it's lost for good.
I agree that the outages are getting far too frequent and far too annoying. Does anyone know where Bueller lives? I'm guessing he's somewhere in California. |

And this is a relatively small site to run. There's many forums that have hundreds of thousands of members, even millions. And they're never down.

if anyone personally knows the admins of this site then maybe they should contact them and let them know....
regardless if supposedly one is a "doctor' and one is a "lawyer" they should still continue to keep THEIR site up and running correctly. i mean Hell i work in the law enforcement field and i have plenty of time when im off and when im on shift to come on here and browse and BS throughout the day.

I think that I am going to migrate all of my data over to MI this weekend and call it quits for the most part over yonder. I really don't give two shits about the owners stance. if they can't get their act together and keep it together then they are a waste of my time. We already lost too much to even discuss from pre-hack because of their lack of proper handling.

There's just not quite as many people, can't expect a community of maybe 100 active members to post as much as 1000+ ;) But like the early days of YW, pretty much everyone knows each other quite well, and there's not much n00bishness going on :)

It is annoying watching the stupid circle go round and round and round and round and nothing happens. Let's face it, this site hasn't been the same since it got hacked/deleted and then reinstated.

Yet another 14 hours down today.
Perhaps it is time to copy all of the good info out of here, before the day comes that it just doesn't come back up...

I thought it was just me. I couldn't get on from my computer at home. Then I started noticing that the site wouldn't load on my phone either.
I've used this site's knowledge for many how-tos on my car and there really are some valuable members that are extremely knowledgable and have helped me and many others with mods and fixes. Scott, Garm...Derek's a local homie to me...shame the nozzle who owns this place probably hasn't been on here since re-instating it. Site Owner/Admin: Get the shit fixed. Then sell the site. Before one of us buys out a domain name (YarisUniverse, WorldYaris, Yarisite) and puts the final nail in the coffin of this quickly-turned-dump of a place. -C
