I found the answer to my own question. Inside the indent/handle on the panel there is a piece of plastic with a flathead groove in it. This slides up towards the car. The rest is just stand offs that are extremely tight. I ran a pry bar inside the plastic until I hit one so I knew exactly where to pry. There's one at the very top of the panel by the middle brake light. I didn't want to break my window so I left this one until last and then slid the panel off of it.

window handle
On a side note, to save anyone else the trouble I went through, here's a tip on getting the manual window handle assembly off. use TWO flat heads, one on either side of the handle. Place both in between the plastic ring and handle, and the handle will pop right off.
I may be the only one out there that's had this problem, but it was a pain in the neck getting it off until I tried two flat heads. |

im concern about drill out the rivet and just put screw in the hole. is someone think about tap and put real bolt. im worried about creating rust form those hole. maybe put some penetrox kind of metallic anti-size grease. Or put galvanise paint

Lol, I did research for weeks on speaker sizes on the Yaris and found multiple sites that said 6.5" front and 6x9" in the back for hatchbacks. Said sources did not specify that goes for the 5dr hatches I'm assuming because I had to do some custom work and grind some of the metal out of my B-pillar speaker mount to fit the 6x9's basket. After about 3 hours of custom fitting both sides, I got them in and panels fit flush. Very happy with my set-up. Went with Atoto A6 stereo through 6.5" 45w-rms and the 65w-rms 6x9's (Rockford Fosgate Primes set for $80USD via Amazon) and a 100w 8" Rockville underseat sub. Only thing I'm missing now is a 4-channel amplifier. Any suggestions? Looking for around 220w-rms..
