I went to all the dealers I could get to in my area, none had a model with power on the floor.. if they even had a Yaris. Also didn't come accross a single HB. Did finaly find an S-Sedan with auto to test drive. But I was able to order my S-Sedan with the power package out here.

I did notice playing with the Buy Toyota web site, using diffrent zip codes for diffrent regions, that some options are not available in some regions. Here in Southern California for example I can't get fog lights or side air bags, while in others you can. I confirmed this with my dealer. He said he could order it that way if I wanted, but it would then be a real special order and could take months to get one, as it would have to reallocated back in Japan on the shipping side, while if I ordered from what was allocated to my region it would only take a few weeks probably, as one was probably already on the boat over and heading to my area, or at a distrubution point, that they could allocate to the dealer with the order.

If it's showing up as an option under the buytoyota web site for your area, then it should be available. Just a mater if the dealer wants to spend the time getting it. I have no idea how Toyota picks what areas get what, I can understand stuff like the all weather package (also not available in So-Cal) But then it must cost them more to come up with all these combo's. And who's not to say I'd use my Yaris up in the mountains in winter (which I will) so that all weather package and fog lights could have been handy. Actually all I realy wanted was the fog lights, the car looks better with them.. I'll have to find something aftermarket to mount in there..

You want options? Try zip code 45255 for a Yaris S-Sedan Auto on Buy Toyota.com. They go up to option package "K"!! Then try my zip code, 91355. Only A, B, C.

My Dealer just told me i could have any options i wanted just had to place in order and wait 4 to 6 weeks. Now If I will have a car in 4 to 6 weeks i dont know. But me personally I would rather wait the extra weeks than to get a car faster that is not the way I want it.

The alarm place I went to quoted me $200 for power locks. The cable locks on the Yaris are new, but their is obviously now a kit out their for them.

no, but there are aftermarket sunroofs that look just as good and aren't that hard to install

As,the Yaris gets more popular etc,I'm sure they will come out with different packages and better options, but 1,700 something for power window, and the other stuff is just too much, in my opinion. I never use cruise, abs not needed on small car like the Yaris. Like I said before,it takes away from the price value of the Yaris, if I max it out with all that stuff,I might was well get a Camry,Fusion,or Mazda 3.

The Yaris caught,my eye, bc of the cheap price and great fuel! I'm taking this car home for $14,137!

I bet next year, the 2008 Yaris will have leather seats, sunroof, power everything, sirius, subwoofers, all the works, I bit you can get one up to 20,000 bucks or more!

But,hey what ever floats your boat, if you are happy getting all power everything then thats great go for it. Just spilling out my 2 cents worth :)

Anyone want to join, my now power ,crank windows club?

YotaYarisUSA
I'll join! I feel Power windows/ Locks is kinda pointless on a liftback, and I drive delivery 40+ hours per week and basically live out of my car. I don't know what the weight difference is (early 90s imports had rather heavy power window assemblies that most tuner/racers avoid, along with sunroofs) but rolling down a window that's less than arm's length from me is more than sufficient. I rarely have passengers besides girl's i'm taking out on dates, and I would rather take my Lexus or just OPEN THE Passenger DOOR for them like a gentleman..so P Locks don't help me. If P.LOcks AND REMOTE ENTRY were both in the Power Package..i might say different..but another $200 on top IS LAME!!! you can get a TOP OF THE LINE security system with BADASS remote entry for way less than that (and it will get you insurance discount).

Power side mirrors are OK, but RARELy used by anyone except people who are sharing cars (=not me).

ABS only helps those who don't have Super Driving Skills like me :P
I can outbrake a C5 corvette in the rain with a stock, non-ABS 240SX..it's all about knowing the limitations of your tires and a decently neutral weight balance..ABS helps those who overreact and slam on the brakes when something surprises them, IMO

The 15" Power Package Steel / Alloy wheels are pretty lame looking, and the tires are still cheapos. For $600 i can put on 15" , 11 pound Falken wheels and tires (Falken Ziex 512 Ultra high Performance AllSeason rating) on and my performance will increase overall.

Cruise would be nice, though..

I agree..it's the pure economics of this type of car. $10,950 + 550 Delivery doesn't sound bad for a stripped down Egg. Add $1600 for Power package and $550 for the lame Floor Mats, Mud Guards (which you can get MUCH cheaper online from ToyotaPartsDirect) you're getting near $14000..you can get a sweet looking 2006 Civic DX Coupe w/ power windows and MUCH MORE for MSRP $15,055..(btw, Brown Toyota in Arlington, Viriginia sells their Civic Coupe DX for less than $13,700!!!!).
I'm going to start referring to the "CONVENIENCE PACKAGE" as the "Convenient for Toyota to list this as an option so that they could say their vehicle costs less than $11,000 Package". hmm..it's not an option on ANY Yaris Liftbacks in the USA as of yet, and to be honest with you, HOW IS A FREAKING REAR WIPER CONVENIENT??!! umm..here in Texas I just wash my rear window regularly and apply RainX..and i've never had problems even on 6 different fastbacks (300ZXs, 240SXs,civic hatck) and 4 SUV's. And, anti-fog strips on the rear window only reduce visibility worse than fog..some RainX antifog and knowing how to use your Vents/Defrost to reduce fog is something that all drivers should know..

Feel free to flame me, Everyone has their Perspectives and Reasons for why it works for their specific application/situation. But, some people make a decision on which car to buy based on the "basics" which most cars INCLUDE as STANDARD EQUIPMENT nowadays...then they just start adding on whatever packages/options they want without respect to the final price...
Personally, i wanted the most stripped down Yaris Liftback as a grocery getter and to drive for work/school to keep miles off my Fully Loaded Lexus.
I'm also using it to test-fit aftermarket parts for a few companies, and will be entered in SCCA after they classify it and I can get TEIN suspension, a decent clutch, front and rear diffusers, and oil cooler setup :P
So, all in all, every add on is worthless to me..except maybe the spoiler and fog lights...and i'm pretty sure the spoiler is non-functional..

Well said TRD_Yaris. I did go for the power package tho. I got a sedan so power window make it easier when the kids forget to roll up the windows I don't have to walk around to each door and roll them back up. They are usually out of the car and in the house before I open my door :)

A dealer who tells you that is just trying as much as possible to NOT assist the customer and as much as possible to screw you over. You should be able to order whatever the hell you want for any car and have them build it and ship it to you. If they can do it for P. Diddy, then they can do it for you...

This is my first post here on Yaris World. I'm hoping to get a call from the dealer in a couple hours that they received a silver, 5-speed, hatch with power everything this morning.

I have to agree with whomever said that there is confusion on the dealers' side concerning this car. I spoke with one dealer and they told me that the 5-speed with the power package is so rare that they've never seen it and when they looked it up on the computer, the closest one is more than 2,000 miles away. When I called another dealer the salesman told me that it's true that the 5-speed with power is rare. What they have to look for on the computer though is an "s", specifying the sport package. Now, I'm assuming he's not talking about the Yaris S sedan because he knows that I'm looking for the hatch. So, basically, I don't think they really know what's going on. All I know is that buying a new car shouldn't be this frustrating.

BTW, I decided to take a look at the Honda Fit and started visiting dealer websites. If they're online inventories are correct, I can't find any Fits in my area either. People must be snatching up every fuel efficient car as quickly as the dealers can receive them around here.

Hmmmm... Sounds fishy.. In the US only the sedan comes with what they call an S-package... there is something simular for the hatch, but it's not available in the US, them folks up in Canada can get it though...

In the southern california region, you want the hatch with option combo "b"

Option Combination #B $1,520
- 50 States Emission( FE)
- Power Package Includes: Power Door Locks, Power Windows, Power Outside Mirrors, 60/40 Split, Reclining, Sliding, Fold-flat Rear Seat, AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA Playback Capability and Auxiliary Audio Jack, Rear Window Wiper, Rear Defroster and 15-in. Steel Wheels( PQ)
- Remote Keyless Entry System[5]( KE)

Well, I caved. I need a new car right now so we just got back from Redlands Toyota and we got a red Yaris S. It's not what I planned on but man, this thing is loaded! The only thing I can think of that it doesn't have is ABS and I think the side air bags. It drives much nicer than I expected. It sits a little high though. Can't wait to lower it a bit. I'll snap a few photos as soon as I can and post them. We're about to go up to Big Bear so maybe I'll snap them up there.

Congrats! If you have the s-package, and power windows/locks, then you do have ABS. The only 3 options not available in Southern California region is fog lights, side air bags, and the all weather package on the s-sedans.

There's two power packages also for Southern CA, one comes with steel wheels, the other comes with alloy wheels, keyless entry, and the rear spoiler.
