I'll be keeping my Yaris, BUT will also be getting an iQ depending on how I like it after a test drive.
I don't know how you guys know it's going to drive like shit if you personally haven't driven one yet. |

Morgan, That 500 is HOT!
My Dad had one of the original ones back in the 1960's. We live in Brooklyn, it was stolen one night right in front of the house. They probably just carried it away.... I think it was like a 2 cylinder, not sure. But it had the cool canvas sunroof. Expect that Fiat to be in MiniCooper range $ wise. I doubt you'll touch one at $14k...

At 10,000 miles a year that I put on the Yaris I plan to drive for 20 years. When I retire I might get a car to restore but the Yaris is here to stay.

We were just looking at the Cube also. The only thing that would stop me is the mileage. Our Yaris gets around 35 mpg in town which I doubt the Cube could get. My husband goes out of town a couple of times a month and it sure saves us money when he takes the Yaris.

It was a 499cc 2-cylinder engine making around 17HP, although the later models had the "huge" 594cc 23HP engine (a big block, I suppose). They are cool cars and I have come close to buying one on many occasions.....I will eventually own a classic 500. As for the new 500......I will trade in my Yaris and cut off my left arm (don't need it to shift!) for an Abarth model!!! As long as they don't "Americanize" it and rebadge it as a Chrysler I'm getting one when they arrive on our shores. |

If I don't buy a Mustang in the fall, I'll be keeping Lil' Blue. I like the Fiat and IQ but no enuff to give up the Yaris......I think....

i drove the cube and wasnt impressed at all
if the 500 comes i might have to pick it up! but for now, the yaris stays, i cant give up the cargo room and passenger room for a smart like car and i only owe like 3800 on the yaris so it would be stupid to trade it |

I'm old enough to have been around when Fiats were sold new in the US. They were the most notoriously unreliable car of their day. My european friends , and the reviews that I read in the european press assure me that this has not changed. Chrysler and Fiat would therefore seem a perfect match.

I bet it costs way too much. I plan on keeping my Yaris until it either falls apart or I can afford a daily driver and use my Yaris for a toy/track car/project car. The IQ might make a good DD for someone who can't afford a smart car but wants one. My LB is about the smallest car I would want. Any thing smaller would be impractical for most people, I'd think.

My Yaris will be elderly when I give it up, barring a crash or some such disaster.

From what I've read so far, the iQ is being marketed as a premium small car. If this holds true in NA, there won't be much price difference between an iQ and a Yaris. You'd probably be better off waiting for the new Yaris hybrid built off of the iQ platform which will be out in a year or two.
For me there's no temptation, because from the dimensions listed on toyota japan, I won't fit in an iQ anyways. Now that Mitsubishi imiev, that's the kind of car I'm going to hold out for. All electric and no oil changes or trips to the gas station....ahhh just imagine. |

I will probably run mine until the wheels fall off, then put the wheels back on and run it a little more unless I decide to sell it and go back to driving the old Tacoma full time.
