i've seen a lot of yarises in mississauga. surprising since it's a suburban hellhole... wide roads and big cars everywhere. no real need for a small city car.

if you see a copper orange RS hatch in mississauga, gimme a honk, :P

Yeah, if you see a Meteorite Metallic Yaris RS 5dr in North York/Markham/Richmond Hill area, that'd probably be me. But it's stock aside from being RS so who knows... haha.

And yes, there are tons of Yarii in and around, but they're almost all stock non-RS.

... And there's a problem with that? This whole forum is populated with people modding their stock Yaris with these rims and those spoilers and that lip.

I didn't want to bother spending the time looking through all the aftermarket shops, especially when the stock RS looks fine by me.

And there are quite a few differences to the interior that makes the car all that much better for me.

I think the RS looks nice and is worth the extra money if that's what you want, but we wanted the Yaris to save money so we got the rs or really slow version.

lol, someone took the RS comment personal...

i would have loved an RS...i love the front seats, rims, split fold rear seats, side skirts, leather steering wheel and knob, etc...just couldnt justify spending the extra 5g's on it at the time

Yeah, the response came off as defensive, but hey, it was just weird to see that kind of comment on these forums when I've seen so many other threads about mods. So, sorry.

Anyway, my reasoning for getting a Yaris was more along the lines of me wanting a car that won't burn through gas like no tomorrow, and also a car that's small because I'm used to driving an '04 Echo HB so I wanted something similar. In reality the Yaris handles much differently than the Echo, and is also larger, but I've gotten used to it now.

Yeah sounds about right, feature wise. It's been a while since I did the comparisons though. According to the Toyota Canada build a car website, the difference between a 5dr RS vs non-RS is $4450. I'd say this is an estimate though, given that you may get another price from the dealer.

Almost everyday on the 401, I see a black hatch with a huge soccer ball decal on the back.

I see a lot more, but this car stands out with that huge sticker.

Funny, I see 3 or 4 daily during my 55 kl. commute back home.

Recently drove Burlington to Regina and back following the US route via Chicago (~5620 kl round trip).
Saw only two Yarii during the whole trip. One on the 402 going into Sarnia and the other at gas station in Flint Michigan.
Did see plenty of Camry and surprisingly more Nissan' and of all things Hyundai' then other Toyota's. Hyundai' 10 year warranty (in the US only) must be driving sales.
Aside from that, mostly NA cars and pickum-ups across the mid-west and in Saskatewan. Very few imports.

Theres only a few modded Yaris' in my area. I have to say, most Yaris owners in Markham who mod their cars, should find another hobby. Theres a swt 4 dr Yaris I used to see at Warden and steeles all the time. It was just like mine, in sedan format, lowered and rims. There are a few Yaris' in Richmond Hill with 17s and 18s...really throws off the cuteness of the car imo.
