Right, I agree. I'd like to see what this one looks like as a 3-door model.

But will this be the new Corolla, or the new Matrix?

I could see that (over the new corolla say), but its quite a bit shorter than the present Matrix

alot of hatch room would be sacrificed if this was the new matrix, would it not?

Yeah - it does appear quite a bit shorter.

I don't think Toyota would waste a design that well put together on their sister brand. Be sure that sexy mother is coming with a T!

hate to say it, but i blame poor american tastes as the reason why car manufacturers do not send (in my opinion) their best stuff over here. car companies know that americans think bigger is better, so they keep designing new SUVs or full sized sedans to bring over here. i mean, toyota cant deny the fact that the camry is the best selling vehicle here, whereas a compact car would be the best selling vehicle anywhere else in the world. i'd gladly have toyota take away the avalon, sequoia, and/or land cruiser for the auris. DAMN US!!! we are the reason why good cars are taken away (3000gt, supra, prelude, rsx...), take forever to get here (yaris, lancer evo, fit, integra type r...) or are never brought here at all (yaris 5-door, civic type r, skyline, fto...). god blessed america, but cursed it citizens...

ps: LOVE the auris, and i do think it will replace the xA in about a year or two...
