Yep.

Again, yep. I hate them too. I wish I could just phone up Toyota and order one without all the salesman hassle. Would make everyone much happier, except the blood-sucking salesmen.

If you are willing to travel for your Toyota, go to Carmax. They don't dicker with the price, but they have a good price and no lowlife salesmen who have failed at everything in life except lying and selling cars. You know your price walking in the door and if you can resist all the extended warranties, that price is the real price.

Ah, but they don't sell new cars. They only sell used, right? I'm in it for a 2012 Yaris, with no options, manual trans, 3-door body style, and no former owner's abuse.

Plus, I want to experience the awesomeness of "new car smell" for once with MY own car.

Then jump on it, man! If they are in your area in the spec/trim you want, then by all means...Get your 2012 on!

I'll be there in a couple of months, just want to have a very large down payment and the college grad $1k rebate. I can't just leave $1k on the table.

One of them did the same to me! Obviously more margin is built into those than the Yaris.

If you don't mind my asking: how low did you get them to go?

I want a target to aim for.

I now have just over $6k sitting in the bank with no home. I will sell my Ninja in December for $2k (someone I know already wants it), plus the $1k grad rebate.

Ideally, I want to have $10k down altogether, as I want sub-$100/month payments for the life of the loan...which will be paid off within 2 years or less, anyway. But still, I hate debt with a passion.

I'd pay cash for this car if I had it at the ready.

They have two locations that sell NEW....brand new Yaris...The North of Chicago in Wisconsin and in Washington DC.

Those are both a bit far to go to save a couple hundred. But hey, people in Wisconsin and the District of Corruption can both save some cash on new cars. Good for them.

Too bad they don't have one in Texas that sells new.
