I also agree with Celica Girl and GD-RS. I don't have the guts to do it either.
I'll just wait until it comes out for aftermarket.....(wishful thinking) |

That is what I am saying. It is a good idea. Now if only that factory did it for us...

MPG is the new cool

Um... I just do not understand these cosmetic changes, all they do is lower the value of the car. Engine, exhaust, and suspension mods I get, better performance is just that: Better!. But this obsession with neon, chrome, wings, pinstripes, and so on just leaves me scratching my head. It just seems like a lot of work for no real benefit.. In my opinion that time and money is far better on sound or performance upgrades.
But hey, too each their own... it's your car do to it what you will!

The yaris is one of those cars people will probably tend to hold onto and enjoy for longer periods of time. Those who mod whether cosmetic or otherwise. Those who leave their cars alone will undoubtedly be the ones more concerned with resale value than enjoyment (not that you wont enjoy driving it). I for one wont be one who trades my yaris in for a Lexus or BMW so im not terribly concerned with resale.

I guess I'm not worried about resale (I'm gonna drive this lil' beast til it drops) but I still don't get cosmetic shiny bits... The money is so much better invested under the hood or in the Tires & wheels or in the sound system or in a GPS or... well you see what I'm saying... -Peter

Where can I buy OEM replacement headlight unit? Is the car dealer the only place I can buy them? Also, is the European Vitz headlight the same size as the US verison?

I too have baked headlights, not to paint them, but to take out the amber reflector in my ol' 2001 Civic. Gave it a much cleaner look in my opinion. Not sure if I would do it again though.

I dont recomend baking your headlight because a guy in my car club with a chevy colorado truck, we decided to bake his tail lights and his casing for his turning signals. After the baking process we put really good silicon glue to put them back 2gether and the next day the headlights were perfect because we took the yellow piece out but the casing of the turning signals had fogged up the next day and by the next day the lense fell off.
