Scorched Earth policy

Ask to speak to the owner/manager of the dealership. If you speak to him and he doesn't help, calmly say "I'm through with you. Who is your boss?" If the answer is no one, I'm the boss, ask for Toyota regional service. Always be polite, and until you get the result you want, or you speak to the CEO of Toyota and he turns you down, there is always another rung on the ladder. Your best source of info is the internet, and many companies with web sites have organizational charts.

This does work, a few years ago I got jobbed by Disney on a cruise package. Unbelievably I got to a vice president who was very interested in how I got his contact information and also couldn't believe that no one fixed my problem. I ended up getting upgraded to a room on an upper deck with a private balcony, and $800 in shipboard credit.
Document everything you talk about, and the full names of the person spoken with, with date and time. If you can get phone records for your cell, use them as proof of your call. Don't give up and don't be a sheep

OK....so you paid to have an aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system put on a car without power locks? Or did you pay for an aftermarket power lock kit, keyless entry and alarm? At first, you made it sound like your Yaris had the power package but Toyota "forgot" to install one of the motors. You should have just done it yourself and saved A LOT of money. You can do it yourself for about $130.

Big companies do not like it when we the consumer gets up the ladder to high management. It is bad business to not take care of a customer.I know it takes one angry customer to tell all his family, friends and anyother person he tells the story to and I lose a lot of money for my business.

Amazing that for the cost of the keyless entry it does not come with keyless entry for both sides of the car......wow.

Keep trying to get what you beleived you paid for.

My wife and I bought a tC last year and got Lojack installed.Well this year I bouth the Yaris and also had it installed. This time they gave me a card to call Lojack and get it registered.
What shocked me was I never got this with my tC.....after calling Lojack they had no record of my car....the tC
This was our first time buying Lojack and did not know any better.....
My wife went to dealership the next day.....talked to manager.....explained the entire story......he was mad as hell....called the installer and told him to be there in an hour....the guy said no he does not work fridays.
Manager told him if he was not there in an hour he would not work Mondays-Thursdays either........
Manager even went as far as to cut us a check for the cost of the Lojack......and had it upgraded to Lojack in motion for free and got it installed that day.......
That was impressive customer service......and I will buy my next car from them as well.
Last week the dealership sponsered a car show for our club to collect donations for the local food bank.......gave out prizes......fed us pizza......free NOS to drink......and 20%off work and parts to the club for a year.
In the NW we have about 4 great dealerships and a bunch that just don't get it.....needless to say the ones that do make the money and lifetime customers.

Get the local media envolved. Channel 7 or 9 would so love to nail that dealership for only installing remote locks on a door-by-door basis. Toyota NA (which is based here in LA) would probably love the coverage to!

Also, what was the name of the dealer...so we can all steer clear!?

Update and conclusion:

So during the Thanksgiving holiday, I was out of town, which is of course when Toyota called me back. No big deal...the finance manager who did my dealings called and apologized about the lack of clarity in the agreement and that they were going to to resolve the issue by installing another actuator (sp?) on my passenger door. He said it was no problem at all that they were very sorry for all the hassle. I'm completely satisfied because I got what I wanted...kudo's to Toyota. What a great company!

I'm glad everything will be fine.
I just hope that you'll get something more than you expected for all the troubles you had to go through.
