The Scorpion is a bad MoFo. The Scorpion LED is next on my list. Its just that I barely have a year in my Surefire E1L. I'd like to get my money's worth before I invest in another flashlight. I like the xenon flux bulbs for the same reason. However, the LED last longer. Thats why xenon flashlights carry a spare in the handle.

lol my friend had a $200 H.I.D bi-xenon flashlight...essentially a car headlamp when i took it apart...

capsule----ballast----small cpu/circuit board----4 "D" batteries...yes 4 "D" batteries

the light was the size of a subway footlong both length and circumference....

but we were able to shine the light on a hospital building like 1 mile away and it wasn't dim at all hehe

Hmm... that may be a good idea to make a HID flashlight that will plug in to the cig lighter

Thats the same flashlight all the mechanics at my shop use. Very handy and has a long lasting power.

Although I carry a maglight in my glovebox, this is an interesting mod worth considering!

Funny you mention that, I actually did find a french fry under the driver seat when I was installing the flashlight. LOL!

The main reason to carry a 4 D-cell flashlight is that it makes for a wonderful weapon as well...the police know this (because they use them that way as well) but also can't do anything about it!

Cheers! M2
