There is always something better... I know of some 6.5's that can out-displace most 8" speakers (not 8" subs... but speakers).

Focal are generally pretty good speakers, I almost went with some focals back in 03... but decided against them due to the very bright tweeters they usually have.

i have to say the tweeter is a bit bright with my focals but the cross over has tree settings for that in my case with running the mesh covers it did help cut down on the brightness a bit but going with the 3 way set i say much better than a two way setup glad i went the route i did and doing the doors full tilt double layer raamatt and dynamat foam outer layer is awsome but im still not done more to come thats a promise

with my job, im in an out of cars all day, a lot of them with hooked up systems. And I've parked hundreds of SEMA, and CES cars. like JL's, RF's etc cars/trucks. And my focals are by far the most i've heard scream. But you have to have a sub with them, they dont have much bass. they are all mids and highs. and yes, the tweeters are insainely loud.
