Nice, very nice, I haven't seen this till now, and that was one quirk that still drives me crazy is the non-adjustable intermittent wipers.

$148 TRDsparks right now! If anyone has a prius and wants to swap (yeah right), let me know, haha

It's been raining here quite a bit lately, and I am mighty glad I swapped mine.

As I mentioned at the top, I got mine for $50 from http://autoworksinc.com/. They had a lot of Prius parts in stock, and don't list everything on ebay. Try giving them a holler before paying full price for a new one...

Does anybody know if the Scion Xd stalk will work? I am curious as to whether or not it cross-reference with any of these p/n's and also, might it be LESS expensive?

Two months later...

What a fantastic mod. Now for those of us without rear wipers...are there any switches to suit us?

I guess I could just install a rear wiper; that would be fun.

Or, just ignore the rear switch. Everything else will work fine.

Sure, but what about the aesthetics? Thanks for the info, CTScott.

the stalk from an 09+ matrix/vibe also works....took apart a friend of mine's 09 XRS to try it on my yaris....works fine, but just the intermittent fronts....not the intermittent rear, its still on/off only

The intermittent rear requires a module and an extra wire, which the Yaris doesn't have. I picked up the module from a Prius, but it needs feedback from the rear wiper motor, which the Yaris's wiper motor doesn't provide.

I built my own module which includes a potentiometer to allow for fully adjustable rear intermittent. I use timing, to replace the feedback signal on mine. I haven't had a chance to package it and install it on my car yet, but on the bench it works perfectly. I will probably mount the knob for adjusting the intermittent delay to the steering column, by the stalk.

You get around to mounting it in your Yaris? Very interested.

I still haven't yet. Every time I have the steering column open I forget to monkey with it. Bobolinko PM'd me last week to discuss a fairly simple relay/transistor circuit that he was going to experiment with.

Any chance that the Prius rear wiper motor could work on the yaris with some modifications in the hatch? Sorry if this was asked already...

It would require quite a bit of work and extra wiring to the steering column, but it could be done. You would also need the prius rear wiper motor, rear wiper relay module, and the wiper stalk.

Is there a work around for the stalk using a dash mount switch. just like the $ 10.00 cruise?

Hmmmm... Actually, the circuit for the intermittent front wipers is built into the stalk, so a work-around is definitely possible, but would require a circuit like my rear intermittent one. Then, you would have a dash or column mounted knob to adjust the delay. It wouldn't require a switch, as the standard stalk has an intermittent mode.

Great writeup CTScott!

The stock wiper switch has bugged me from day one. I also ordered the part from autoworksinc.com. The guy was very helpful and I got the part the very next day.

The dealership wanted $208 for the stalk. No thanks. The guy at autoworksinc pulled mine from an 07 Prius as well. $50 + shipping.

The whole upgrade took about 7 - 8 minutes max and works like a charm.

Hey, did you steal my part from Wisconsin??
I'd love to do the fog light stalk, but not sure I want to pull the steering
wheel. I realize this one can be done without doing that.
