Im thinking about going to my local muffler shop soon to get mine done... Anything I should know? Like I hear people saying there are 2 cats on it so should i get one taken off? Also Im sure im going to go with a Magnaflow and 2" piping.

my glasspacks cost under $60 for both of them. the stainless tip was about $20. piping and install was about $100.

so, under $200 for exhaust from the cat all the way back with 2.25" piping. assuming you can find a good exhaust shop that does quality work, custom is way better and cheaper than aftermarket kits.

whats more, most of the aftermarket set ups i have heard sound like crap. they either sound like they are a lawnmower or the car has a case of the farts. you need a long resonater on a 4 banger to get a deep tone, like over 20" of resonator or glasspack...and a second straight through turbo muffler or glasspack to tone it down. with a single glasspack its WAY too loud. my set up is still right around the legal limit, quite loud by most peoples definition.

i tried it with a borla muffler on the end, and it was much quieter than the second glasspack, but the second glaspack cost $80 less(and i think it sounds better), plus with the borla it wasnt much louder than stock.

moral of the story: custom exhaust > rice-in-a-box axleback systems
