Buy a cheap multimeter and test input, output and continuity.

do u have friends with subs/amps. I know I've used "known good setups" just to do a quicky wire up to check your power, remote,RCAs... etc. that's a cheap way to check and compare your stuff.

Find a real live person so some one can look at what you are doing..or at least post some pictures so that some one who is knowlegable here can see to advise you
