Looks perfect to me. What did you use for cutting? I have a bolt cutter somewhere at home, do you think that would work? There is a metal strip inside the blade somewhere, isn't there?

Thanks guys, you will need a small flatblade screwdriver, wiss snips and a razor knife. You use the screwdriver to pop the end caps off and thats the hard part because you have to twist pretty hard but they will come off. Then take inner pcs apart(metal backer, plastic body and the rubber wiper) cut the metal pc with the snips, the plastic you can use the razor or a hacksaw blade, and rubber wiper with the razor, reassemble put a dab of adhesive inside each end cap and your good to go. You have to use a wiper with removable end pcs or I don't think this will work.

Nice, maybe I will try this after winter, since I dont see the point in buying good wipers now that its getting cold.

I just got a set of RainX blades and cut down a 16" one to 14" for my HB. It's on the car at the moment and fits nicely, but it was a real pain in the ass getting the caps back on.

I am letting the glue dry a bit more before I try them out (it's raining as we speak). They do look good, unfortunately it's hard to get good pics but here is my best try...

Cheers! M2

mine do not have ANY space left for more than 13".

The reference book do say 14" on some and 13" on others though..
Heck, the reference book even says 24" on the drivers side. but 24" is too small for the sedan. It really needs 26"

I also noticed that too...I've seen the 24" on certain reference books...,but it really indeed uses a 26". I wonder where the confusions come from. Could it be a year thing? I have a 2008 Sedan and it uses 14" and 26".

Impossible. The yaris sedan has been been larger since it came out in late 2006.

I don't believe you unless you put a ruler by your wiper and take a picture. lol

I am still using the OEM blades that came with the car... and it is 13", and no extra space to put anything longer...

lol, well, I don't have a ruler with me. But I'll take a picture of it for you. But for now, here's the exact same item on amazon that I bought at Advance Auto Parts, and had one of the employees install it for me. (yeah, I suck at installing wiper blades)

Huh....could it be some kind of miss reading on their side? Maybe they claim it's 26", but it's really 25"?

I can assure you, my next set of wipers will NOT be viewmax wipers from waltmart. I don't like how the driver's side does not make good contact with the glass towards the top of the windshield.

michelin hydro edge wipers go for 15$ a piece at costco, even for the 26".
from the look of them, they can be cut down just like the rain-x. They may even be the exact same wipers.

My viewmax 26" was 20, and the 13 cost 15...

the reason you have some parts store say 13's and others 14's is because the OE size is 350mm (remember this is a Japanese car) which is 13.7795 inches long... so some round up and some round down

as for the drivers side is 650mm or 25.5906 inches... but no one makes a 25 inch blade

The OE blades off of a xD cost me about $50, about the same amount of money as any of the aftermarket replacements

and BTW inserts can be purchased at just about any autoparts store for $4-5 for a pair

it is not.

hatchback takes 24 and 14 while the sedan takes 26 and 13. I don't care about the half an inch sticking in or out, the 2.5cm different is there on the 2 cars.

Why are there so many wiper threads on here??? LOL Ok...I just put this on another string but it totally applies here too...

OK...here's the ticket: As you probably know from reading this string, the Toyota Yaris' 14" passenger side replacement windshield wiper is very hard to find in the newer-style beam blades. The 12" rear is also very hard to find because its a special rear blade that fits the special rear arm.

After exhaustive research, I've only found one aftermarket set-up that works: 'Trico NeoForm Beam Blades' on the front (yes, they have a 14") and 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blade' on the rear. All of the above come with step-by-step, illustrated removal and replacement instructions - easy install. Got the whole set-up online.

As a follow-up to my post above, I just got an email from wipers123.com and there's a $15 rebate on NeoForms (including the 14") through 5/15/10. They also sent me an additional $5 instant coupon "springreturningcustomer" (orders over $30) not sure when it expires... I'm not ready to replace mine yet so take it if you want it!
