This works for race cars or cars that need some more clearence to fit their top mount turbo, but is rediculious for a Yaris for function.

i think mead has the right idea here.

credit given for going your own way with it and doing what you want to do. not for me, but gotta pay a little respect at least to those who are willing to be adventurous and not worry about every other yaris... rock on man!

thank you ryota that is the entire point in modding a car to personalize it to fit your tastes. So don't flame on my originality.

It doesnt matter what people say or think. If you like it then do it. If you want a bird catcher sticking out of your hood do it.

I like it btw. though I probably would've done a 1/2 inch spacer.

I used to have my hood like this for my skyline. It makes the car look more mean, with cars that have long bonnets. Otherwise i wouldnt do it on my yaris cause i didnt notice any temperature differences.. But each and their own. Keep up the originality.

Kudos for trying something new!
I don't care for the mod. Also wonder what its doing for aerodynamics in rain and at highway speed, but not a big deal either way.
At the same time, I never saw anything even remotely close to flaming from anyone on this thread, so take it a bit easy when people voice criticism; you did post it here, after all.

i think if one were to put it up about 2" total it'd look better, and less like poor bodywork (more intentional looking)

and as far as aerodynamics goes, nothing's as bad as my Naca duct lol

the damn car felt like a brick at 80mph

This is a joke, right? People don't really think that these things decrease underhood temps or, for god's sake, look anything less than an atrocity...do they? These decrease usable HP by reducing underhood temps about as much as the cyclone does for gas mileage.

Curious, does it act as a scoop and bring in air or does it act as a vent and let out hot air?
