honestly I think they could if they wanted, my low rating of Toyota and the dealer is more then not getting the key chain( you did see the 8 other problems didn't you ). Remember I have given my Yaris a 10, it's Toyota and the dealer that get low marks.

The Onyx version looks pretty nice, but it needs lowered

Thanks , I've been giving that some thought for awhile now, I would like no more then a 1" drop. Other than maybe lowering my Yaris my only mods will be a Tanabe front strut tower brace, TRD rear sway bar and a Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust.

1. There was a heavy residue on the entire car and glass, I didn't notice this when I bought because it was raining.

2. Left front rotor backing shield was rubbing against brake rotor.

3. There was slight 6" scratch above the right side door.

4. All windows inside were dirty.

5. All four tires were 10-12 lbs. low on air.

6. Left front wheel had some type of overspray on it.

7. Underbody rubber plug were not installed by the dealer.

8. The Onyx comes with a numbered limited edtion key chain, there was none with the car.

9. I found broken pieces of glass on the rear floor.

I found all of these problems the day after I bought my Yaris, I corrected all of the problems myself that same day. That is all but one thing, as of today I still have not recieved my number Onyx key chain.

Toyota has never contacted me about my complaints.
Oh good. I thought you were stating problems that your DEALER should be taking care of.

Oh wait a minute...

The broken glass means it suffered a broken window before delivery, the overspray means it was damaged in transit and fixed, the same with the scratch and brake shield that was bent. I'd be jumping all over the dealer and giving Toyota a call.

For me 9.0 to toyota, my dealer gets a 8.0 and the yaris as a whole gets a 9.9.

Never let me down, works great, consumes very little and handles like a go-kart
+1 - no complaints yet, in 3 years with a Yaris.

From what I understand the dealer had some problems with vandals, my guess is my car may have be one of the cars damaged. The broken glass is like what you have said, the overspray on the wheel wasn't paint, I guess I should have said it also had a heavy residue on it. The brake shield wasn't bent, it was just too close to the rotor, as for the slight scratch I think that might have been caused by vandals. Again, I think my Yaris is a great car, I just don't feel the same about the dealer or Toyota.

Toyota: 4/10. Current situation should have been handled differently. the cars them selfs are boring and uninspired. except for the yaris.

Dealer: 10/10. Kendall Toyota in anchorage, alaska. service department is stellar, and the sales experiance was exceedingly awesome. no hitches or snags or gotchas in either place.

yaris 7/10: i like this car, its fun. but its starting to wear on me. i thought that having a small car would be great, and it is. but i want something bigger and more powerful now. recent mechanical problems are troubling.

Toyota: 6/10 - really could do alot better than they are with the current situation, but still better than any us manufacturer

Dealer: 5/10 - I knew the dealer wasnt the reason I was going to buy my car, just a hurdle i had to jump through to get it. I went to the best dealer in town, but still not impressed

Yaris: 9/10 - I just took my yaris for a 2500 mile trip this past week and now have over 7500 miles on it in less than 2 months. This thing drives like a champ and at around 37-38 mpg, i cant complain. As a bigger guy, the car does get a little uncomfortable after 10+ hours of driving, but I think any car would. I still dont like the clutch that much though. I stall it at least once a week, but ive been driving a stick for 7 years and still havent been able to get it just right on the yaris

I guess my dealer was OK, they had one equipped the way I wanted it(plain jane with only A/C, a stereo, and floor mats, no power stuff). I haven't had any servicing done on my car there though, so I can't comment on their repair shop. They do have the only Toyota Factory Certified body shop in my area so if the car gets wrecked, I know where to have it fixed. The only strange thing was I gave them a check for $5000 as a down payment and they took nearly 2 weeks to cash it, long after I'd taken the car. They were also slow to contact my credit union to get the loan straight.

This company also has a Hyundai dealership, right next door to Toyota, that once sold me a used car that had previously been wrecked and I found out after the fact. Fortunately, they did make good on the deal by paying for an oil change and inspection, and fixed what I thought was just a misaimed headlight, which it turns out wasn't aimed right because of the bodywork, for free. However, my wife has taken her Hyundai to them and it seems like their mechanics aren't all that on the ball.

As for my Yaris, I love it. A desperation purchase(having to give up my rental car after the insurance company paid me for my totalled vehicle) lead to get the Yaris because it was the cheapest new car I could find in town at the time. I find it to be a great little car, once I got used to its quirks, like the center mounted speedometer.

Great car, highly recommended.

Does anyone know if Toyota's satisfaction survey @ toyotaopinion.com anonymous. They sent me a review for my purchase. I want to give dealer low satisfactory, but I'm afraid they will try to f'up my car when I take it for oil change.

Oh BTW:

Toyota: 10 - Their quality never let me down
Dealer: 2 - Keep trying to sell me useless warranty and talk condescendingly when I opted out
Yaris: 10x10 - ...
