Hey Violin,
Since you mentioned going the with a full retrofit, I wanted to point out that the Denso OEM HID kit will not work in a plug and play situation. It will only work if you perform a retrofit like Violin plans to, or if you already have an existing OEM HID system. OEM kits cannot "plug and play" into non-HID headlight systems without some modification. Thought I'd share that distinction between OEM HID kits and HID Conversion kits.

The Denso kit that I linked to will work in a plug & play situation. The bulb has an extra groove machined into the base that holds it correctly in the included casper shield that fits in the H4 bulb space. It comes with spade plugs to plug into the stock H4 harness. That is OK for short term but you should really buy/make a new wiring harness with relays so the ballasts are powered from the battery or you will fry your wiring (or worse) over time.
Be aware that we have a switching ground setup - meaning that the positive is always on and the ground is switched on and off. It is extremely important to get the polarity correct. |

As for the wiring harness, you might want to check out this if you haven't found a solution yet: Info at: http://www.mobilehid.com/products.htm#wires

Correction - no it won't. This is how it's supposed to hold the bulb and adapter: Below is how ours looks: |

Not that big a deal to me as Ken at Sparks Toyota is hooking me up with a pair of stock headlight housings at a reasonable price and I'll be starting my full retrofit any day now. Photos to follow.
With some modifications to our bulb holder, I'm sure the kit I linked to above could be made to work and it is quality parts that will last a very long time. |

BTW - there is room under our headlights to mount the ballasts. I used double sided super heavy duty mounting tape and two small screws to attach mine like so: (Be very careful drilling into the housing and use the shortest screws that will reach as there is limited space between the black ABS outer housing and the reflective inner housing - but there is space. I used 1 1/4" screws.)

Yea those are not "real" Bosch. It is clearly a chinese company infringing on copyrighted logos and trademarks for marketing purposes. Beware.

Where's our vendor that was pushing his low budget HIDs on here months back? One member bought, posted problems, and I've yet to see the vendor post ever again. You get what you pay for people. |
