Makes me curious as to the percentage breakdown for cars in North America. It be interesting to see the numbers of SUV's, luxury vehicles, compacts, sub-compacts, etc. that were sold for all new cars bought in the last ten years or so. Of course the high end cars are great for introducing new technology into the auto market, but I'd like to see the ratio of fuel efficient cars esp. sub-compacts that are sold grow larger. Sub-compacts probably don't yield high profit margins for the industry, but I'd assume they could do a greater volume of overall sales. |

It is true that the cheaper the vehicle, the smaller the margin. Almost all of the subcompacts in the states will not be volume sellers either.
However, most subcompacts buyers eventually step up to larger, more expensive car(s) from the same company. It's an easy way to start brand loyalty. |

Man, you all need to chill. Fact of the matter is, it's a good time to be in the subcompact market. And everyone's got different tastes. And, believe it or not, some people might not like Yaris (*gasp!*). Obviously some people don't like the Fit, either. Seriously, folks — chill. There's no need for insults, name calling or any thing else.

This is for you online tough guy.I think we've all read your comments of the sort before in the ABS thread, and then this oversensitive response to criticism of "OUR car." Whatever dude - the FIT is a good vehicle. So is the Yaris. I'm not going to start hating the FIT because some random stranger compared it in a favorable way against the Yaris and vice versa. |

Well said Bikergal. Isn't there a term for someone who posts on a site like this, for the express purpose of upsetting others. I've seen Canon users post on a Nikon website that Nikons were crap, just to get things going. If that's what passes for entertainment these days, well .......... I have better things to do. Ignore the "Trolls".

Ignoring them is no fun. Of course sadly most of them just post and run.
I don't care what car the person drives, he came here and insulted our car. I'm simply not going to stand for it.

Both cars have their merits, and I'm not knocking the Fit because I've been a Honda owner all my life. I've owned three different Honda Civics and they've all been great cars.
This is my first Toyota, and I'm excited to see what this company has to offer further. The PRIMARY reason why I did not choose a Fit was because of aesthetics. I feel the Yaris has much more character and personality when you look at it, whereas the Fit reminds me of utlility and functionality. Not to say that the Yaris does not have utility/functionality, but the Yaris is more pleasing to the eyes (mine). |

believe me, he is not upsetting me. It takes much more than that to upset me.
However, there is nothing wrong with returning the favor.

I believe I have post my respond according to Car and Driver Comparison. They have probably get rid of it because they might find it offensive. hehe. Regardless, I think they are terrible to compare stuff that doesn't really fit in the same class.

i like the yaris better. nothing against the fit, but for a "economy car" it actually pretty expensive, thats defeats the whole purpose. If your a honda kinda person i would rather spend the extra $1000 and get a civic.

The Yaris can't be compared to the Honda Fit and others... It's a too low entry car. So C&D put the Yaris sedan. Compare apples with apples. |
