Give us non Canuckians a perspective of what 2400 bi-weekly means. I know if someone told me 2400 bi-weekly U. S. Dollars , I would be impressed for someone so young.

Our dollar is currently worth slightly more than yours.

Most aftermarket crap for me is cosmetic I believe.

That is a very smart idea, the thing is though. Why would anyone take my loan? It is a used car and they would just use the loan on something else. Though mines been paid off a years worth.

2400 every two weeks. You work for 2 weeks cut off is on Sundays get paid Thursdays.

2400 Canadian is also worth more than US dollars fortunately.

Not to dig into your finances... couldn't you just pay off the loan more quickly then get into another car once the loan is done?- keep both cars.... One for play, the other for pay?

I don't like the idea of having more than one vehicle, and I rather just get rid of one then pay for the other I still plan on doing other things in life I'm kind of tight with myself you could say.

Does anyone know maybe if you saved a certain down payment for it they would let it fly

Kevin, I'd love to help you, but I don't have a damn clue about canada, lmao! I also agree, I'm about to get a new mustang 5.0, and even though my Yaris is paid off, I'm still thinking VERY hard about getting rid of the yaris...just no room for my wifes car and then 2 of my cars, plus all my military crap in my garage, ya know?

get rid of the yaris if it suits you best, and also as long as you are financially able to manage it. If it's what makes you *happiest* then screw the rest!

Exactly! My only problem is getting rid of the vehicle, I still have 4 years to pay sadly.

I just don't like seeing people take a financial hit if they could help it. With such a large amount of payments left, not too many people will be willing to take over payments. If you go into a new car, the dealer is not going to take the hit for you either, they will roll in what's left of the Yaris loan into your next car (minus what they think they can sell the car for).

In either case, you end up paying for the "opportunity" for a new car.

How about a compromise? Look up the exact amount you owe, then look up the going whole sale used price for your area. Make extra payments down to just under the whole sale price then get rid of the car. When you go to the dealer they will stick it to you by paying only for the whole sale price not the going street value.

At least in this way, you won't end up owing for the the Yaris.

you earn a ton of money, just pay the car off and keep it. It will be better to have a year round car and a summer toy than a car you worry about driving in snow.

With what you earn it should not take much time to save up enough money to pay the car entirely off.

But that leaves 2 cars for one person, and even with money not being an issue, space might be.

Precisely.

If I went for lets say a honda civic SI, 26,000k + tax I'd be at like 32k. So if I trade in the Yaris after making 240$ Monthly payments for a year which its original price was 20,430$ with taxes.

Let's do math.

12 x 340 = 4080$ (What I've paid so far)

20,430 - 4080$ = 16,350$ owing (Yaris total minus what has been paid)

So now lets add 16,350$ of Yaris to the 32k of a Honda Civic Si

16,350 + 32,000 = 48,350$

Now that is what I'd owe adding my total debt of my 2010 Yaris, and 2012 Civic Si.

Now we'll minus what a dealer would give me for it, let's say its KBB is 10-12k value, so a dealer will probably moke me and offer a low 8k.

48,350$ - 8,000$ = 48,350$ owed in the time of 5 years and that is not including interest I think?

Did anyone see a flaw in my calculations?

Yeah, $48,350 - $8,000 = $40,350 not $48,350
