R2D2,
I like to drive conservatively. Slow starts, try not to apply breaks much, coast through stop lights and red lights, etc. Just joking. I try to maximize FE, so I keep my psi at 42, drive slow (average of around 55-60mph), coast, start slow, etc. I drive Mon-Thurs mostly highway, but Fri-Sun mostly city. I think that's what may be doing it-the city driving. I have noticed that when I'm on the highway, my FE always goes up. So, I think it might be my city driving that's bringing my numbers down. If I had exclusively highway, I have no doubt I'd consistently be above 40mpg. My Ecometer from MicroImage also helps me to guage my fuel consumption.... |
