jsut realised you pm'd.....it takes a few days and you get used to turning off the blinker manually.
also check youtube for aftermarket steering wheel install, there is agood one for a nissan and one for a honda that shows the paperclip and why it is done to make the horn have a power source. Once upon a time cars did not have airbags......yes call your insurance to verify in the event of an accident they would cover your injuries, you may indeed find they will not. You in many states for drivers safty for drivers who have to sit close to the steering wheel can have airbag removed and they cover injury. Remember modding a car is a personal choice and many of us have done it since we were infants.I have pictures of me on a 69 Trans Am at age 2 with a wrench in my hand. |

check this out:
http://www.nhtsa.gov/Laws+&+Regulations/Air+Bags http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/ruli...ctnpr.n21.html Specifically, the agency is proposing to allow dealers and repair businesses, upon written authorization of a vehicle owner or lessee, to deactivate either the passenger-side air bag, the driver-side air bag, or both. Dealers and repair businesses are statutorily prohibited from making Federally required safety equipment inoperative, but NHTSA may exempt them from the prohibition in appropriate circumstances. In order to qualify for the exemption, the dealer or repair business would be required to provide the owner with a NHTSA information sheet describing the circumstances in which deactivation may be appropriate, based upon the comparison of the risks in those circumstances of turning the air bag off versus leaving it on. The authorization would contain a statement that the owner/lessee has received and read that sheet. The agency is proposing to require that warning labels be installed as a condition of deactivation. Alot of this has to do with a request from the dealer or repair shop to remove airbags or disabling them.. Been reading alot on other forums, basicly you can still drive a car even if the airbags have already been deployed. Its not illegal to drive with no airbags. BUT you must disclose any information if this car is sold to someone else or you will be liable for injuries from a collision of the new owner.

Id call and just ask thier policy. Just say your shopping for insurance and you have an aftermarket steering wheel that disables your airbag. If they ask for a name or something, just give them a false one.
