at any rate, until production moves to N. America, Toyota has little incentive to push the yaris here, as the models being produced overseas are not profitable (enough) to bother.

No, people don't want them because the complete and total lack of features. A well featured Yaris is now about the price of a Prius C. In my area the cheapest I could get it with an auto is $16k. With Prius C's now being discounted to about $17k, who would even look at a Yaris?

If it was back down in the $12k range it might be worth it, but no way at $16k. A Corolla or a Prius C can get the same or better gas mileage, has much better features, and is bigger.

If the Prius C was available at these prices when I was looking in 2006 I would have bought it over the Yaris.

You likely won't like this answer (re past posts about having outlived lived its usefulness when compared to new alternatives) but.....someone who still wants a MANUAL transmission* .....and also wants hand crank windows .

* I know, one could probably count the manual transmission fans on the head of a pin.....and the group who also like hand crank windows would be even smaller.

We fit the bill. Everything we have is manual (trans), wouldn't have it any other way. We only have one (of 4) vehicles with power windows and I'm not 100% sure you can even get a VW Beetle with crank windows...
