TWM's short shifter is a replacement of the stick itself. It shortens that piece which in turn shortens the amount of travel required to sink into gear. The NST SSK modifies the linkage in the engine bay to achieve the same effect the TWM kit achieves without actually changing the height of the shifter itself. You can install the NST kit over top of the TWM to make a throw rougly 50-60% shorter than stock, but that route isn't for the faint of heart. It is how I tested the kit, though, and I will say I was getting into gear as fast as I ever have experienced in a manual car with a stock transmission. It was a lot of fun. I have no problems running that setup in my daily driver.
